Is there a Haryana DET 2027 entrance exam?
No. HSTES does not hold a Diploma Entrance Test (DET) for polytechnic admission. Its official website states that diploma admissions are made on the inter-se merit of the qualifying examination, so there is no admit card, answer key or exam centre.
One online process covers three diploma courses:
- Diploma Engineering: 3 years, semester-based, after Class 10.
- Diploma Engineering Lateral Entry: direct admission to the 2nd year (2 years), after 10+2 or Class 10 plus a 2-year ITI.
- Diploma Pharmacy: 2 years, annual, after 10+2 science with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics.
It fills all seats in government and government-aided polytechnics and 75% of seats in self-financing institutes. The 2026-27 prospectus lists 246 AICTE-approved institutions in the state, 40 of them government polytechnics.
Haryana Polytechnic Admission 2027 Important Dates
HSTES has not announced the 2027-28 schedule, so the 2027 dates below are expected months. In 2026, Diploma Engineering registration ran from 21 April to 10 June 2026 and the first seat allotment came out on 19 June 2026.

How to Apply for Haryana Polytechnic Admission 2027
You apply online only, on the HSTES admission portal (techadmissionshry.gov.in). No printed form is accepted. If you have no internet access, a Common Service Centre or a nearby government polytechnic can help you fill the form and pay the fee.

Applications for Haryana Polytechnic 2027 are expected in April 2027.
- Open the admission portal, sign up for your course (Diploma Engineering, Lateral Entry or Diploma Pharmacy) and note the unique application number it generates.
- If you live in Haryana, enter your Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) ID. Your name, date of birth, category and income are fetched from it and cannot be edited, so correct your PPP record first.
- Fill in your details, opt for any special category you qualify for (such as TFW, EWS, HGST or KM) and choose a designated centre for verification.
- Upload your photograph (JPG, up to 30 KB), signature (up to 20 KB), qualifying-exam mark sheet (DMC) and any sub-category certificates in PDF.
- Pay the registration fee online by debit card, credit card, UPI or net banking.
- Wait for the designated centre to verify your form online. Only verified candidates are placed in the merit list.

The fee is not refunded in any case. Self-financing institutes also collect a one-time Admission Data Management Fee of Rs 200 per admission for HSTES.
Who can apply for Haryana polytechnic admission 2027?
Eligibility depends on the course. These are the rules in the 2026-27 Diploma Prospectus; check the 2027-28 prospectus when HSTES releases it.

Haryana residents need a verified PPP ID. Seats are split into an All India Category (15% of intake) and a state quota (85%), with a 25% horizontal reservation for girls.
How is the Haryana diploma merit list prepared?
HSTES ranks every verified candidate by the percentage of marks in the qualifying exam. Each course counts different marks:

If a tie remains, the older candidate ranks higher, and after that the alphabetical order of your name, father’s name and mother’s name decides. If your board changes your marks after the merit list, report it to HSTES; the change applies only from the next round.
How to Check the Haryana Polytechnic Merit List and Seat Allotment
HSTES publishes the inter-se merit and each round’s seat allotment on the admission portal, and you see your own rank and seat in your candidate login.
- Open the HSTES admission portal.
- Log in with your unique application number and password.
- Check your inter-se rank. If you also applied under a special category such as TFW, you get a second roll number and rank for it in the same login.
- During a counselling round, fill and lock your choices of institute and branch.
- After the allotment, download the provisional seat allotment letter and report to the allotted polytechnic within the given dates.
The portal also has an institute-wise Seat Allotment Result page and a Last Year Opening / Closing Ranks page, which you can open without logging in.
How does HSTES counselling work for diploma admission?
HSTES runs two centralised online off-campus counselling rounds. You fill choices online, HSTES allots seats on merit, category and choice, and you then report in person to the allotted institute.
- At reporting, show your original documents, deposit one semester’s fee and collect the Provisional Admission Slip. If you do not report in time, the seat is cancelled.
- Round 2 needs no new fee, but you must fill choices again. A round 2 allotment cancels your round 1 seat automatically, so list only choices you prefer to your current seat.
- To keep your round 1 seat, skip round 2 or delete all your round 2 choices before the deadline.
- Seats still vacant after round 2 go to institute-level manual counselling, where each polytechnic prepares a fresh merit list of the candidates who apply to it.
- Tuition Fee Waiver (up to 5%), EWS (up to 10%) and Kashmiri Migrant (up to 5%) seats are extra seats, filled separately on the same merit.
What is the expected Haryana polytechnic 2027 cut off?

AIC seats are open to candidates from any state; HOGC is the Haryana Open General Category. Closing ranks shift every year with the number of applicants and seats, so treat them as a guide only.
What documents do you need when you report for admission?
- Original Class 10 or 10+2 mark sheet (DMC), with three sets of self-attested photocopies of every document.
- Character certificate: from your school or college if you studied as a regular student, or signed by a First Class Magistrate if you passed as a private candidate.
- Verified PPP ID, with the mobile number linked to it for OTP verification.
- Certificates for any category or sub-category you claimed, such as PH, FF, ESM, or the EWS income and asset certificate.
- Medical fitness certificate and anti-ragging undertakings signed by you and your parent or guardian.
- Coloured photographs and your provisional seat allotment letter.
Is Diploma Pharmacy 2026-27 admission still running?
Yes, for candidates who already have an HSTES inter-se rank. HSTES revised the Diploma Pharmacy counselling on 21 September 2026 following Supreme Court directions. Round 2 seat allotment is scheduled for 13 October 2026 at 4:00 PM, with reporting from 14 to 16 October 2026. Institute-level counselling for vacant seats starts on 19 October 2026, and the last date of admission is 30 October 2026.
