AMRU has not announced the 2027 schedule yet, so the dates below are expected months. In 2026 the form opened on 16 July and the test was held on 2 August 2026, but the test was in June in 2025 and in July in 2024, so the 2027 month may shift.

How to Apply for HP M.Sc Nursing 2027
You apply online on the AMRU website, and the whole process from application to counselling is online. The 2027 form is expected in July 2027. In 2026 the window ran from 16 to 25 July 2026, after one extension, with corrections allowed until noon on 26 July.
Apply Online for HP M.Sc Nursing 2027
Applications for HP M.Sc Nursing 2027 are expected in July 2027.
- Go to amruhp.ac.in and open Admission > Apply for Admission and counseling > M.Sc. Nursing Course.
- Register with your email ID and mobile number, then log in.
- Fill in your name, father’s name and date of birth exactly as in your matriculation certificate.
- Choose your category and one exam centre. In 2026 the centres were Nagrota, Hamirpur, Mandi and Shimla.
- Upload a photo taken on or after 1 June (JPG, up to 40 KB), your signature (up to 20 KB) and your work experience certificate. In-service candidates must also upload the Provisional NOC-cum-Eligibility Certificate.
- Pay the fee online, then click Final Submit. Paying the fee alone does not complete the form.
- Download the PDF of the submitted form and keep a printout for counselling and admission.

Who can apply for HP M.Sc Nursing 2027?
Only female candidates can apply, and they must meet all of these conditions from the 2026 prospectus:
- B.Sc Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing or B.Sc (Hons) Nursing from a recognised institution with at least 55% aggregate marks.
- Registration as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN/RM) with the HP State Nurses Registration Council or any State Nursing Registration Council by the time of admission.
- At least one year of work experience after registration. The certificate is uploaded with the form.
- No upper age limit, as per the Indian Nursing Council notification of 21 August 2023.
Seats are split into in-service and direct quotas. In-service seats are for nursing cadre staff of the Himachal Pradesh government with at least 5 years of service, and these candidates cannot take private college seats. Direct quota seats go to bonafide Himachali candidates and children or spouses of HP government employees, while management quota seats in private colleges have no domicile condition.
Reserved seats follow a 40-point roster for SC (15%), ST (7.5%), PwD (5%) and, in government colleges, EWS. Category and domicile certificates should be the online, digitally issued versions; offline certificates may not be accepted.
What is the HP M.Sc Nursing 2027 exam pattern?
The test is one offline OMR paper of 100 multiple-choice questions in English, with 1 mark per question, 2 hours and no negative marking. Questions follow the GNM and B.Sc Nursing syllabus, 20 from each of five areas:

For government colleges you need at least 50% marks (General and EWS) or 40% (SC, ST and PwD); private colleges have no minimum. Ties are broken by section marks in the order above, then by age, with the older candidate placed first.

Which colleges admit students through HP M.Sc Nursing?
Two government colleges and eight private colleges were listed in the 2026 prospectus. Government seats are split 60:40 between in-service and direct candidates.

The private colleges were Shivalik Institute of Nursing (Shimla), Murari Lal Memorial School and College of Nursing (Solan), Netaji Subhash Nursing College (Palampur), Modern Nursing College (Shimla), Shimla College of Nursing, Guru Dronacharya College of Nursing (Dharamshala), Shimla Valley Nursing College and Abhilashi College of Nursing (Mandi). Seat numbers depend on yearly approval and affiliation, so check the 2027 seat matrix.
How are HP M.Sc Nursing seats allotted?
Seats are allotted through online counselling on merit and your choices, after the result. AMRU first shows the answer key on its website, and you can send objections with proof by email within two days or the time given in the notice.
The result is posted on amruhp.ac.in; no marks card is sent and there is no re-evaluation, but you can ask for a copy of your OMR sheet under RTI for Rs 100. AMRU then publishes combined and category-wise merit lists.
Counselling is run by the Common Centralised Counselling Committee headed by the Director of Medical Education and Research, HP. It can have up to four rounds: round 1, round 2, mop-up and stray vacancy. You must fill and lock fresh choices in every round to be considered.
