Karnataka ITI Admission 2027 is the merit-based admission to trades in 270 Government and 192 Aided ITIs, run by the Department of Industrial Training and Employment (DITE), Karnataka. There is no entrance test: ranks come from Class 10 or Class 8 marks. Online applications for the August 2027 session are expected in April to May 2027.

Is there an entrance exam for Karnataka ITI admission 2027?
No. DITE Karnataka fills seats in Government and Aided ITIs on merit-cum-reservation. Your rank comes from the marks of your qualifying class (Class 10, or Class 8 for some trades), and seats are then allotted online according to your rank, category and the ITI and trade choices in your form.
Candidates who studied Class 1 to 10 in a rural area for ten years get a weightage of 10% of marks, shown as a separate column in the gradation (merit) list. Only trades affiliated to NCVT under DGT, New Delhi are filled through this process, and no ITI may admit more students in a trade than its sanctioned seats.

Karnataka ITI Admission 2027 Important Dates
DITE has not announced the 2027 schedule yet. In 2026 the notification came on 24 April, online applications ran from 27 April to 15 May and Round 1 seats were allotted on 22 May 2026, so the 2027 application is expected in April to May 2027.

How to Apply for Karnataka ITI Admission 2027
You apply online on cite.karnataka.gov.in once the 2027 notification is out, either on your own or through the help desk that every Government ITI runs during admissions. One form covers all Government and Aided ITIs; you list your ITI and trade choices in the same form.
Apply Online for Karnataka ITI 2027
Applications for Karnataka ITI 2027 are expected in April 2027.
- Open cite.karnataka.gov.in and choose Applicant registration. Enter your name, email ID and mobile number, verify the mobile with the OTP and set a password. Each applicant needs a separate mobile number and email ID.
- Log in as Applicant with your registered mobile number, password and the captcha, then open the application form.
- Answer whether you studied in Karnataka for 5 years and whether you are applying as Class 10 pass, Class 10 fail or Class 8 pass. Karnataka SSLC candidates can enter the 11-digit SSLC registration number to fetch marks and personal details from the board.
- Fill in the applicant, communication and education details, and mark every reservation that applies to you: category, Kalyana Karnataka (371-J), disability, ex-serviceman, Kannada medium, rural study. Upload your photo and the matching certificates as PDF files under 200 KB.
- Pick a Government ITI near you as your document verification centre, then add your ITI and trade choices in order of preference (up to 20 in 2026).
- Submit the form, note the application number and download the acknowledgement. Visit the verification centre with original documents and attested copies within the verification dates.
Your mobile number and email ID cannot be changed later; they stay linked to your training and exam records. Tuition fees in the 2026 notification are below; the only charge at the application stage was the Rs 50 document verification fee.

How does Karnataka ITI seat allotment work?
Seats are allotted online in rounds from the final gradation list, and seats still vacant after that are filled at the ITIs in a casual round. In 2026 the steps ran as follows.
- Document verification at the chosen Government ITI, where officers also check your choices and correct errors in the form.
- Final seat matrix published on the portal, followed by the tentative gradation list.
- One day to raise grievances against the tentative gradation list, then the final gradation list.
- Round 1 online seat allotment, after which you report at the allotted ITI with your documents and take admission within the given dates.
- Casual round: from 1 June 2026 each Government and Aided ITI accepted paper applications every day and filled its vacant seats on merit the next day, posting the remaining seats on its notice board. SSLC supplementary candidates and online applicants who got no seat could apply.
Training for the August 2026 session began on 1 August 2026, and DGT set 7 September 2026 as the last date for any ITI admission in the country. Expect the same order of steps in 2027.
How to Check the Karnataka ITI Merit List and Allotment Result
Karnataka publishes a gradation list (its merit list) with each applicant’s rank, and the allotment for each round, on cite.karnataka.gov.in. You can also check your own status with the Know Your Application Status option.
- Open cite.karnataka.gov.in.
- Under Admission Notification, open the gradation list or seat allocation list for the round you want; the full list can be downloaded as an Excel file.
- Search for your application number or name to see your rank.
- To see your own result, choose Know Your Application Status and enter your application number and phone number. It shows your status, allocation and rank.
- If you are allotted a seat, report at that ITI with original documents within the round’s admission dates, or the seat goes to the next round.
Who can apply for Karnataka ITI admission 2027?
You can apply if you are an Indian citizen, at least 14 years old on the training start date (1 August in 2026), and have the qualification your trade asks for. The 2026 notification set these rules.

You must also have studied for at least 5 years between Class 1 and Class 10 in Karnataka, shown by a study certificate attested by the Block or Deputy Director of Public Instruction. Children of certain central and state government employees are exempt, and Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadigas can apply under the 2011 government order.
How are Karnataka ITI seats reserved?
Seats follow Karnataka’s reservation rules for SC, ST and backward classes (C1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B), with these other quotas in the 2026 notification.

In Aided private ITIs the management can fill 4 seats in each NCVT trade. A reservation you do not claim in the form, or cannot prove with a certificate at verification, is not counted.
