Kerala ITI Admission 2027 is the merit-based admission to trades in Kerala’s Government ITIs, run by the Industrial Training Department (ITD), Government of Kerala. There is no entrance test: seats go by index marks from SSLC marks. The online application is expected to open in June 2027 on itiadmissions.kerala.gov.in.

Is there an entrance exam for Kerala ITI admission 2027?
No. The Industrial Training Department (ITD) fills Government ITI seats in Kerala on merit, with no entrance test. Each applicant gets index marks worked out from SSLC marks, and every ITI then admits candidates trade by trade in index-mark order, following the reservation rules.
Under the 2026 prospectus, index marks come from your total in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (out of 300) in the Kerala SSLC. Grades are converted to marks: A+ counts as 95, A as 85, B+ as 75, B as 65, C+ as 55, C as 45, D+ as 35, D as 25 and E as 15. For CBSE and ICSE candidates, English, Mathematics and Science marks are used, and for NIOS candidates English, Science and Mathematics.

Kerala ITI Admission 2027 Important Dates
ITD has not announced the 2027 schedule yet. In 2026 the online application ran from 8 June to 30 June 2026 and admission at the ITIs began on 13 July 2026, so the 2027 application is expected to open in June 2027.

How to Apply for Kerala ITI Admission 2027
You apply online on the Jalakam ITI admission portal, itiadmissions.kerala.gov.in, once the 2027 application opens. One application with a single fee covers all Government ITIs in Kerala; you list the ITIs and trades you want in order of preference in the same form.
Apply Online for Kerala ITI 2027
Applications for Kerala ITI 2027 are expected in June 2027.
- Register on the portal with your name, mobile number, email address and a password. One mobile number can be used for only one application, and the login details come to that number by SMS.
- Log in with your mobile number and password and fill in your personal and qualification details. Kerala SSLC or THSLC candidates from 2013 onwards can fetch their marks with the register number; others enter marks or grades themselves.
- Add your communication details and any reservation or bonus-mark claims, such as NCC, NSS, sports, EWS or a backward block.
- Upload the supporting certificates as PDF files of up to 200 KB each.
- Choose a district, then the ITIs and trades you want, and arrange them in order of preference with the Move Trade Up and Move Trade Down buttons.
- Accept the self-declaration and pay the Rs 100 application fee online by net banking, card or UPI. Only then is the application complete; print it and keep the final copy.
- Go to the nearest Government ITI with your original certificates, including those for grace marks and an ID proof, within the verification window. You do not need to hand in the printout, but an application that is not verified is rejected.
You can edit your application, including your trade choices, by logging in again until it is verified at the ITI. After verification no changes are allowed. Every Government ITI runs a help desk, and the portal’s Help Desk menu lists district admission coordinators who can sort out login problems.
The Rs 100 application fee is the only charge at the application stage. These fees are paid at the ITI when you take admission, as per the 2026 prospectus. SC, ST and OEC candidates do not pay the maintenance fee.

How to Check the Kerala ITI Rank List and Admission List
Kerala does not publish statewide 1st, 2nd and 3rd merit lists. After verification ITD publishes a rank list, and then each Government ITI prepares its own list of candidates eligible for admission, trade by trade. In 2026 the rank list came out on 7 July 2026 and the first admission list on 8 July 2026.
- Check the admission lists on the Jalakam portal and on the notice board of each ITI you applied to.
- Watch for an SMS on your registered mobile number. The ITI principal sends the admission date for each list by SMS.
- Report at the ITI on the given date with your original certificates and pay the admission fee to confirm the seat. A seat not confirmed by the due date goes to the next candidate.
- If you are selected at more than one ITI on the same day, pay the fee at only one; your claim at the others lapses. If another ITI selects you later, you can request a transfer from your first ITI within the set dates.
- Carry the original certificates you uploaded, including the ones for reservation and bonus marks, plus the TC from your last institution, which is compulsory at admission.
- Keep your registered mobile number and email address active until you get your trade certificate.
Who can apply for Kerala ITI admission 2027?
You need SSLC or an equivalent qualification, and some trades also take candidates who failed SSLC. Under the 2026 prospectus you must be at least 14 years old on 1 August of the admission year, and there is no upper age limit.

Only Kerala natives can apply, but those born elsewhere can apply with a nativity certificate showing at least 5 years of residence in Kerala. Foreign nationals are not considered. Candidates who failed SSLC as private candidates cannot apply, and the Level A equivalency course of the Literacy Mission counts as SSLC.
Which trades and ITIs are available in Kerala?
The 2026 prospectus counts 108 Government ITIs in Kerala, of which 100 run NCVT-affiliated trades. NCVT trades lead to the e-National Trade Certificate after the All India Trade Test, and SCVT trades lead to a State Trade Certificate, which Kerala PSC accepts.

Classes run in two shifts from Monday to Friday, 7:50 AM to 3:00 PM and 10:00 AM to 5:10 PM. You need at least 80% attendance to sit the trade test. The full ITI-wise list of trades and units is in the annexures of the prospectus.
How are Kerala ITI seats reserved?
Seats in every trade are reserved by community as per the 2026 prospectus, and 30% of seats in every trade at each ITI are kept for girls. If not enough girls apply, those seats go to boys.

There are also special seats for orphanage inmates, Technical High School students, sports quota candidates, Anglo-Indians and residents of Lakshadweep and Mahe, plus special batches for SC/ST candidates and for nominees of the Labour Welfare Fund Board.
