Meghalaya ITI Admission 2027 is the online, merit-based admission to trades in the 13 Government ITIs of Meghalaya, run by the Directorate of Employment & Craftsmen Training (DECT). There is no entrance test: each ITI calls applicants for counselling and publishes a selected list. Registration is expected to open around June 2027 on idect.in.

Is there an entrance exam for Meghalaya ITI admission 2027?
No. Admission to the Government ITIs of Meghalaya is merit-based and there is no entrance test. You apply online on the iDECT portal, and each ITI then publishes a list of applicants called for counselling and a selected list for admission.
ITI courses are skill-training courses under the Craftsmen Training Scheme of the Government of India, in trades such as Electrician, Plumber or Computer Operator. To compare ITI admissions in other states, see our ITI admission guide.
Meghalaya ITI Admission 2027 Important Dates
DECT has not announced the 2027 schedule yet. In 2025 registration ran from 16 June to 14 August 2025 (after an extension), and in 2026 it closed on 21 August 2026, so the 2027 registration is expected to open around June 2027.

How to Apply for Meghalaya ITI Admission 2027
You apply online on iDECT (idect.in), the Integrated Digital Ecosystem for Craftsmen Training run by DECT, once the 2027 registration opens. Until then the registration page shows that the 2026-27 registration is closed.
Apply Online for Meghalaya ITI 2027
Applications for Meghalaya ITI 2027 are expected in June 2027.
- Open the iDECT registration page on idect.in when the 2027 registration opens.
- Register with your name, father’s and mother’s names, date of birth, gender, mobile number and e-mail ID, and set a password. Your mobile number is verified by OTP, and you must be at least 14 years old.
- Log in as an Applicant with your registration ID or username, password and captcha, or with your registered mobile number and OTP.
- Fill in your personal details, your permanent address in Meghalaya and your education details (Class 8, Class 10 or Class 12 marks, as applicable).
- Upload your certificates and marksheets as JPG, PNG or PDF files of up to 500 KB each.
- Choose the ITI and trades you want. The portal checks your eligibility for each trade when you select it.
- Submit the application before the last date and download the application receipt.

Nothing is paid while applying; the course fee and caution money are paid only after you are selected. If you forget your password, use the Forgot Password link on the login form: an OTP is sent to your registered mobile number and you can set a new password.
Who can apply for Meghalaya ITI admission 2027?
Permanent residents of Meghalaya can apply. The iDECT portal accepts applicants aged 14 years or more, and the admission notice invites applications from permanent residents of the state.
- Residence: permanent resident of Meghalaya.
- Age: at least 14 years on the date of registration.
- Qualification: as required for the trade you choose. The portal records Class 8, Class 10 and Class 12 details and checks eligibility trade by trade.
- Women: ITI (Women) Shillong admits women only; the other 12 Government ITIs are co-educational.
DECT has not published a trade-wise list of minimum qualifications on its public pages, so check the eligibility message on iDECT when you pick a trade.

For the 2026-27 cycle, iDECT listed 13 Government ITIs with 87 trade units and 1,940 seats. ITI Shillong and ITI Tura are the largest. The 2027 list will be shown on the portal when registration opens.

Seats per trade unit are 16, 20 or 24. Trades and seats can change from year to year, so confirm them on iDECT under Check ITI & Trades before you apply.
How are candidates selected for Meghalaya ITIs?
Selection is done ITI by ITI, not through a statewide 1st, 2nd or 3rd merit list. After applications close, each Government ITI publishes a list of applicants selected for counselling, holds counselling, and then publishes a selected list for admission with a waiting list for each trade.
- Check the list for counselling of the ITI you applied to.
- Attend counselling at that ITI on the dates given, with your original documents.
- Check the selected list for admission. If your name is on the waiting list, you may get a seat when a selected candidate does not join.
- Pay the course fee and caution money and complete admission at the ITI.
In 2025 the counselling lists of 10 ITIs were posted on dectmeg.nic.in between 27 August and 11 September 2025, and the selected lists of 11 ITIs between 17 September and 10 October 2025. For 2026, these lists were not posted on the public DECT website, so applicants should watch their iDECT login and contact their ITI.
What happens after you join a Meghalaya ITI?
Once your admission is confirmed, you get a Student ID on your registered mobile number. With it you can use the iDECT student portal to see attendance, academic progress and exam schedules, apply for leave and download certificates.
At the end of the course you take the All India Trade Test of the Directorate General of Training. Passing it gives you the National Trade Certificate in your trade.
