MP PPT 2027: No Exam, MP Polytechnic Admission on Class 10 Merit

MP PPT 2027 will not be held as an entrance test. The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Madhya Pradesh fills first-year polytechnic diploma seats on Class 10 merit through online counselling on dte.mponline.gov.in. Registration for 2027-28 is expected in May 2027, followed by merit lists and two central rounds.

This page explains how MP polytechnic diploma admission works now that the PPT is not held: dates, how to apply, eligibility, merit, cut off and counselling.

Is the MP PPT 2027 entrance exam being held?

No. There is no Pre Polytechnic Test in the current process. For 2026-27, DTE MP admitted students to first-year diploma courses on the merit of their Class 10 marks through online counselling, and the 2027-28 admission is expected to follow the same route.

So there is no MP PPT 2027 syllabus, admit card, answer key or scorecard. The name survives only as the course code “PPT” on the DTE counselling portal, where the diploma rule book is filed. All you need is a Class 10 pass and an online registration in the counselling window.

MP PPT 2027 Important Dates

DTE MP has not announced the 2027-28 schedule yet. In 2026 the schedule came out on 30 April and registration ran from 4 to 29 May, so registration is expected in May 2027 and the first merit list in June 2027.

How to Apply for MP PPT 2027 (DTE MP Diploma Counselling)

You apply online on the DTE MP counselling website. Registration is done once and carries over to every later round, so you do not register again for Round 2. Keep a working mobile number and email ID ready before you start.

1. Open the DTE MP online counselling portal when the 2027-28 registration opens and choose the diploma course.
2. Register with your Class 10 roll number. MP Board and CBSE results are checked online from this number.
3. Enter your MP e-district application numbers for caste and domicile certificates, so they can be e-verified. If e-verification fails, upload the original documents asked for.
4. Note the temporary password sent to your mobile and change it when you fill choices.
5. Fill and lock your choices of institutes and branches, and pay the choice filling fee online.
6. Check your eligibility status through the Check Candidate Status link, and wait for the common merit list and allotment.

The choice filling fee is non-refundable, and your choices are not treated as locked until it is paid. If your marksheet shows grades, merge it with the board’s grade conversion formula into one .jpg file and upload that.

Who can apply for MP PPT 2027 diploma admission?

• You must be a citizen of India.
• You must have passed Class 10 (10+2 system) or SSC or an equivalent exam from MP Board (Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education) or any recognised board.
• The 2026-27 rule book sets no subject condition for first-year diploma, so the old “Maths and Science compulsory” rule does not apply.
• The same Class 10 qualification applies to Diploma Architecture and to Ambedkar/Eklavya scheme diploma seats.

Reserved category seats and fee concessions need valid Madhya Pradesh certificates, which are e-verified through the MP e-district application number at registration.

How is the MP PPT 2027 merit list prepared?

DTE MP ranks all eligible candidates on one common merit list made from the marks of the qualifying exam, which is Class 10. The list is issued after the last date of choice filling in each central round.

• Students of Madhya Pradesh who won a gold medal in a national-level sports competition get a 10% weightage on their marks.
• A candidate who got the sports weightage is placed below a candidate with the same total who did not.
• If you have more than one marksheet, upload the board’s pass certificate that shows marks obtained, full marks and the result, or you can be declared ineligible.

Seats are then allotted by merit rank, category and your locked choices.

How are MP polytechnic diploma seats reserved?

The 2026-27 rule book reserves seats for Madhya Pradesh categories as below, with further horizontal quotas inside each category.

Horizontal quotas cover female, Sainik, freedom fighter, differently-abled and NCC candidates. Government women’s polytechnics are now co-educational: seats left after all eligible women are admitted go to male candidates.

What is the expected MP PPT 2027 cut off?

DTE MP does not publish a general closing rank list, but it does publish a cut-off for the BPL and Class-IV employee facility. These are the 2026-27 diploma figures (source: DTE MP notice dated 4 June 2026). Verified candidates within these common merit ranks could use the facility; “All” means every verified candidate in that group qualified.

The facility applies only in the first round, in government and aided polytechnics of your own district, autonomous and government women’s polytechnics and university institutes. The 2027-28 cut-off will be different and will appear on the official notice page of the counselling website.

How do MP PPT 2027 counselling rounds work?

Admission runs in two central online rounds and then an institute-level round for vacant seats. In 2026-27 the pattern was:

1. Round 1: registration, choice filling, common merit list, then the allotment letter and reporting at the allotted institute.
2. Round 2: a fresh registration window for new candidates, choice filling (re-locking for earlier candidates), a new merit list and allotment.
3. College level counselling (CLC): register online, then attend the institute between 10:30 AM and 1:00 PM on an admission day. The institute makes a merit list of those present and admits in that order.
4. A final CLC round for seats still vacant (13 and 14 August in 2026).

You cannot cancel your registration between the last date of locking choices and the release of the allotment, or on the day of a CLC admission.

What happens after you get an MP PPT 2027 seat allotment?

• Report in person at the allotted institute by the last date in the allotment letter, with your original documents.
• Your documents are verified and matched with what you entered at registration. Any mismatch can cancel the allotment.
• Pay the academic fee at the institute. The part of the tuition fee you paid online is moved to the institute and adjusted in your fee.
• Your admission is locked with your password and an admission slip is issued. Keep it signed and stamped.
• You deposit only your TC and migration certificate with the institute; other originals stay with you.

If you are found not eligible at reporting, you can return to the same institute with the right documents before the last reporting date.

What do Ambedkar and Eklavya scheme diploma seats offer?

Seats under the Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Eklavya schemes have the same Class 10 eligibility and merit rule, with extra support listed in the 2026-27 rule book:

• Scholarship of Rs 1,000 a month.
• Free stationery, drawing and other material worth up to Rs 2,000 per semester.
• Free textbooks worth up to Rs 2,000 per semester.
• Free hostel and food.
• Free exams: the RGPV exam fee is covered at its actual amount.
