NEPGET 2026-27 – North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) has released the official notification and information brochure for Post Graduate and Ph.D. admission for the academic session 2026-27. The NERIST Post Graduate Entrance Test (NEPGET) is a university-level entrance exam conducted by NERIST, Nirjuli (Arunachal Pradesh) for admission to M.Tech., M.Sc., MBA (Full-Time) and Ph.D. (Full-Time/Part-Time) programmes. About NEPGET / NERIST PG Admission
NERIST (North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology) is a Deemed-to-be-University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, located at Nirjuli, Arunachal Pradesh. It conducts the NERIST Post Graduate Entrance Test (NEPGET) every year to admit eligible candidates to its PG and Ph.D. programmes. Applications to NEPGET must be submitted in online mode only through the official website.
NEPGET 2026-27 Courses Offered
NERIST offers the following postgraduate programmes through NEPGET:
- M.Tech. (Full-Time) – Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
- M.Sc. (Full-Time) – Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics
- MBA (Full-Time) – Specialisations: Human Resources Management, Marketing Management, Systems Management, Finance, Operation Management
- Ph.D. (Full-Time / Part-Time) – All departments and Centre for Management Studies
NEPGET 2026-27 Eligibility Criteria
M.Tech.
B.Tech./B.E. or equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale). SC/ST/PWD candidates get a relaxation of 5%. Candidates with a valid GATE score are also eligible and may be considered preferentially.
M.Sc.
B.Sc. (Hons/Major) in the relevant subject (Chemistry, Mathematics, or Physics) with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. Refer to the official brochure for subject-specific details.
MBA
Bachelor’s degree in any UGC/AICTE-accredited discipline with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST). Candidates with a valid CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT score are exempt from NEPGET written test and are directly called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GDPI).
Ph.D.
Master’s degree in Engineering/relevant programme with a minimum of 60% marks / 6.5 CPI, or 55% marks in aggregate in Sciences/Humanities/Social Sciences/Management (General category). Candidates must clear the NERIST entrance examination followed by an interview.
How to Apply for NEPGET 2026-27
- Visit the official website: nerist.ac.in or neeonline.ac.in
- Register with a valid email ID and mobile number.
- Activate your account using the code sent to your email/mobile.
- Select the programme type and check eligibility.
- Fill in personal and academic details in the application form.
- Upload scanned photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
- Pay the application fee online (refer to the brochure for the fee amount).
- Submit the form and keep a printout for future reference.
Important: Candidates can fill the form in one session or save and complete it later within the deadline. Double-check all entries before final submission as errors may lead to rejection.
NEPGET Selection Process
Selection for M.Tech. and M.Sc. is based on academic merit and performance in the NEPGET written exam, followed by counselling. For MBA, shortlisted candidates are called for Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GDPI), with 75% weightage to written test and 25% to GDPI. Ph.D. admission involves a written test and an interview round. The list of selected candidates is published on the NERIST official website.
NEPGET Admit Card 2026
The NEPGET admit card / hall ticket will be available for download on the official website after the application window closes. Candidates must use their registered Application Number and Date of Birth / Password to download the admit card. The hall ticket is not sent by post. NEPGET Result 2026
The NEPGET result will be declared on the official NERIST website after the examination. The result / scorecard will contain the candidate’s personal details, scores, marks, and rank (if applicable).
