The NEPGET 2027 syllabus is set by NERIST in its PG and Ph.D. information brochure. The brochure gives a unit-wise syllabus only for the Ph.D. test: Research Methodology plus your subject at GATE, NET, CAT or MAT level. It lists no separate topics for the M.Tech, M.Sc and MBA written test, which has 100 one-mark questions.

What does the NEPGET 2027 syllabus cover?
The official syllabus covers the Ph.D. written test, which has two 50-mark sections.
- Section A: Research Methodology, common for all engineering, science, humanities, social science and management departments.
- Section B: subjects of your department, following the syllabus of national tests such as GATE, NET, CAT or MAT for that branch.
- PG written test (M.Tech, M.Sc, MBA): the brochure gives the pattern but no topic list.
What is in the NEPGET Ph.D. Research Methodology syllabus?
Section A has six units, taken from Annexure VI of the 2026-27 brochure.

What is the NEPGET 2027 exam pattern and marking?
Both tests have 100 questions of one mark each. The details below follow the 2026-27 brochure.

How should you prepare for NEPGET 2027?
Since there is no official topic list for the PG test, prepare from the core subjects of your qualifying degree.
- M.Tech and M.Sc: revise the core undergraduate subjects of your branch; the GATE syllabus for your branch is a useful checklist.
- MBA: practise the kind of aptitude sections found in CAT and MAT, and prepare for the group discussion and interview, which carry 25%.
- Ph.D.: study all six Research Methodology units, especially statistics, and revise your subject at GATE or NET level.
- All: with 25% negative marking in the PG test, avoid blind guessing.
