NIIFT Mohali Admission 2027 is the admission process of the Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology, a Punjab Government initiative, for B.Sc, B.Voc and M.Sc fashion and textile courses at Mohali and Ludhiana. No entrance exam was held in 2025 or 2026; seats are filled through online application and counselling, expected around May to June 2027.

Is there an NIIFT entrance exam in 2027?
Not so far. NIIFT did not hold its entrance exam in 2025 or 2026. Its Admission Notice of 29 May 2025 cancelled the 2025 test because of the uncertain situation in Punjab’s border areas, and admissions were opened on a first come, first serve basis.
The 2026-27 Admission Guidelines kept the same route: you apply online, then attend counselling, where seats are allotted under the IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) reservation policy. The last written test, with a situation test and interview, was held in 2024. NIIFT has not said whether a test will return for 2027-28, so watch niiftindia.com for the 2027 guidelines.

The 2027-28 schedule is not out yet. The dates below are expected months based on the 2026-27 cycle, when applications closed on 30 May 2026 and counselling was held on 4 and 5 June 2026.

How to Apply for NIIFT Mohali Admission 2027
You apply online only, on the NIIFT application portal linked from niiftindia.com. The 2026-27 form was at applyadmission.net/niiftmohali2026; a new link is expected when 2027-28 admissions open.
Apply Online for NIIFT Mohali 2027
Applications for NIIFT Mohali 2027 are expected in May 2027.
- Open niiftindia.com and go to the Admissions menu for the current year, or open the application portal directly.
- Create a login with a valid email ID and fill in your personal and educational details.
- Upload a scanned photo and signature in JPG/JPEG format, each between 5 KB and 50 KB.
- Choose your course and centre, and mark any reserved category you claim (only one besides General).
- Pay the application fee online by card, net banking or UPI, or by demand draft in favour of NIIFT Mohali.
- Print the form and send it with your 10th, 12th (and graduation, for PG) results and category certificates, as the guidelines ask.

NIIFT rejects incomplete forms and forms received after the last date. You can apply while still appearing in your qualifying exam.
Who can apply for NIIFT admission 2027?
Eligibility depends on the course. These are the rules in the 2026-27 guidelines.

Appearing candidates get provisional admission. In 2026 they had to submit the qualifying result by 31 July 2026 or the last date set by IKG PTU. Punjab-quota seats need a Punjab domicile certificate at admission.
Which courses and seats does NIIFT offer?
For 2026-27, NIIFT offered four programmes with 200 seats across two centres.

Older courses such as B.Sc Knitwear Design and Technology, M.Sc Garment Manufacturing Technology and M.Des Fashion and Textiles were not on the 2026 seat list, and no course was offered at Jalandhar.
How are NIIFT seats allotted without an entrance exam?
Seats are allotted at counselling on a first come, first serve basis for the seats available, in three rounds. Rounds 1 and 2 follow the IKG PTU reservation policy.
- 85% of seats are for Punjab residents and 15% are open to candidates from all India.
- Within the 85% Punjab quota, 25% is reserved for SC/ST and 5% for Backward Classes, with smaller sub-quotas for border areas, sportspersons, defence wards, disabled persons and others.
- The 15% all-India quota is split General 70%, SC/ST 25% and Backward Classes 5%.
- Punjab-domicile students who studied at least three years, or passed Classes 11 and 12, in a rural-area school get a 5% weightage in marks.
- After Round 2, unfilled reserved seats become General seats and are given on a first come, first serve basis.
Attend Round 1 for the best chance. If you get a seat there, you can join later rounds to upgrade or change it, subject to vacancy. In 2026, an open admission Round 3 for leftover seats ran until 14 September 2026.
Is there an NIIFT admit card or result in 2027?
No admit card, answer key or entrance result has been issued since 2025, because there is no test. Instead, you download a provisional call letter for counselling from the application portal, and your seat is allotted at the counselling venue.

What documents do you need for NIIFT counselling?
Bring the originals and one set of self-attested photocopies of these documents.
- Class 10 result
- Class 12 marksheet (a DigiLocker printout is accepted), and graduation result for the M.Sc
- Aadhaar card and migration certificate
- SC/ST/OBC certificate and certificates for any other reservation you claimed
- Punjab domicile certificate, if applicable
- Affidavit for any gap in studies, digital photographs and a blood group report
What fees do you pay after an NIIFT seat allotment?
Once a seat is allotted, you pay Rs 67,750 for the first semester, by demand draft or online, or the seat goes to another candidate. In the 2026 open admission round the deadline was two working days.

If you withdraw within 7 days of the end of counselling, or before the session starts, the fee is refunded after a Rs 1,000 processing deduction, under the IKG PTU refund rules.
