AIFD 2026 admission is conducted by the Army Institute of Fashion and Design (AIFD), Bangalore, an institution under the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). What is AIFD?

The Army Institute of Fashion and Design (AIFD), Bangalore is a premier design institute established in 2004 under the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). It is affiliated to Bengaluru North University and offers undergraduate courses in fashion design and interior design. The institute has two admission routes: civilian candidates are selected on Class 10+2 merit, while wards of eligible Army personnel (serving, retired, or war widows) must clear the WAT (Written Aptitude Test) to compete for the AWES quota.

The minimum eligibility is 10+2 pass with at least 35% marks from CBSE, ICSE, Karnataka Pre-University Examination, or any equivalent recognised board. The application fee is ₹1,000. Applications are typically accepted from December through March (regular) and April (late fee). AIFD 2026 Application Form – Apply Online

The AIFD 2026 Application Form is issued by the Army Institute of Fashion and Design on its official website aifd.edu.in. For the 2026 cycle, applications were accepted from approximately December 2025; the last date for applying without late fee was 31 March 2026, and with a late fee of ₹1,000 the deadline extended to 30 April 2026. Candidates applying for the next academic cycle should monitor aifd.edu.in from December 2026 onwards.

Steps to apply for AIFD:

  • Check Eligibility: Confirm you have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 35% marks from a recognised board. Army personnel wards should confirm their AWES eligibility separately.
  • Register Online: Visit aifd.edu.in, create a login, and fill in personal and academic details accurately.
  • Upload Documents: Upload passport-size photograph, signature, and required certificates as specified in the prospectus.
  • Pay Application Fee: The application fee is ₹1,000. Pay online via the available payment gateway.
  • Submit and Save: Submit before the deadline and save the printout of the submitted form.

AIFD 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements to apply for AIFD 2026 admission:

  • Educational Qualification: Passed 10+2 (Class 12) or equivalent from CBSE, ICSE, Karnataka Pre-University Examination, or any recognised board.
  • Minimum Marks: At least 35% aggregate in Class 12 final examination.

AIFD WAT 2026 – Written Aptitude Test

The AIFD WAT (Written Aptitude Test) is the entrance test conducted by AIFD for candidates applying under the AWES (Army Welfare Education Society) quota. Civilian candidates do not appear in the WAT — their selection is merit-based on Class 10+2 scores.

The WAT is an objective MCQ-based test. Key details are as follows:
