The IFTK Entrance Exam 2027 is the aptitude test for the four-year B.Des Fashion Design course at the Institute of Fashion Technology Kerala (IFTK), Kollam. LBS Centre for Science and Technology conducts it. Dates are not announced; applications are expected from March 2027 and the exam in June 2027.

IFTK 2027 Important Dates
IFTK has not released the 2027 admission notification yet. In 2026 the notification came on 23 March and the exam was held on 13 June, so 2027 is expected to follow a similar March to June schedule.

How to Apply for IFTK 2027
You apply online only, on the LBS Centre portal, once the 2027 notification is out. The steps below follow the 2026 process, when the form was open from 24 March to 4 June 2026 (the last date was extended from 31 May).
Apply Online for IFTK 2027
Applications for IFTK 2027 are expected in March 2027.
- Read the IFTK prospectus for the year before you start.
- Open the IFTK application link on the LBS Centre website and register. Fill the registration details carefully, as they cannot be updated later.
- Create a password and keep it safe until the end of the allotment process; you need it for the admit card, allotment and refunds.
- Log in, fill the application form and upload your photograph and documents as per the stated specifications.
- Pay the application fee online and submit the form.
- Check your candidate homepage; any defect in the application is shown there and must be fixed within the given period.

Who can apply for IFTK 2027?
You can apply if you have passed the 12th standard (or an equivalent exam) from a recognised board. Admission also depends on qualifying in the aptitude test conducted by LBS Centre.
- The 2026 notification asks for a pass in 12th standard; it does not mention candidates who are still appearing.
- No subject combination or minimum percentage is prescribed in the 2026 prospectus.
- Seats for SC, ST and OBC candidates are reserved as per Kerala Government and University of Kerala norms.
- 10% of seats are reserved for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates.
What is the IFTK 2027 exam pattern?
The IFTK aptitude test is an offline exam in two parts, an objective test on an OMR sheet and a descriptive drawing test, for 100 marks in all.

No mark is deducted for unanswered questions, and marking more than one bubble counts as a wrong answer. The 2024 booklet also said wrong answers carry no deduction. The drawing task is done with colour pencils on A4 paper.
What is the IFTK 2027 syllabus?
The syllabus is set out in the IFTK prospectus and follows the two parts of the test.
- Quantitative ability: addition, multiplication, division, fractions, percentage, rate of interest, work and task, ratio and proportion, and distance.
- Communication ability: synonyms, antonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular and plural, one-word substitutes, idioms and phrases, and correct spellings.
- English comprehension: reading a passage and answering questions on it.
- Analytical ability: inference and logical reasoning.
- General knowledge and current affairs.
- Creative ability: observation, innovation, design ability, and the use of colour and drawing skills.
Recent drawing tasks asked for a detailed realistic sketch of a scene, such as a street vendor with customers or a retail store display during a festival. Practise with the IFTK previous year question papers.

How are IFTK 2027 admissions made?
Admission is by rank alone. LBS Centre prepares the rank list purely on the entrance exam marks, then allots seats through its centralised allotment process; IFTK fills any vacancies left at the end through a spot allotment. Check your IFTK rank list once it is published.
The old claim that a personal interview follows the test is out of date: the 2026 notification, prospectus and rank list mention no interview.
