The Patna University Entrance Exam 2027, officially the Admission Entrance Test (PUCET), is Patna University’s own test for six UG programmes, including BCA, BBA, BBA LL.B. and BFA. Patna University has not announced the 2027 schedule, so the 2027 dates below are expected months based on 2026, when forms ran from 15 May to 5 June 2026 and the test was held from 22 to 24 June 2026.

How to Apply for the Patna University Entrance Exam 2027
You apply online only, through the Admission link on pup.ac.in, which opens the university’s Samarth admission portal. Regular courses and self-finance courses need separate applications, and you may apply for both.
Apply Online for PUCET 2027
Applications for PUCET 2027 are expected in May 2027.
- Open the admission portal when the 2027 notice is out and choose New Registration under Apply for Admission.
- Create your account with your own email ID and mobile number, then log in again from the login page.
- Fill in and check your profile carefully. Once the profile is locked it cannot be corrected.
- Open Find your programme, read the eligibility of each course, and choose your first option.
- Pay the application fee after the first choice. You can then add up to four more options, five in all.
- Open My Application and print the page that lists all your preferences.

Keep scans of your Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets, a caste certificate (Bihar residents only), EWS certificate, quota certificate (sports, military, staff or fine arts) and disability certificate if they apply to you. Self-finance courses have no quota.
Which Patna University courses need the entrance test?
In 2026 the entrance test was held for six UG programmes. Regular four-year UG courses in arts, science and commerce do not use it: they admit on Intermediate (Class 12) marks through merit-cum-choice lists.

Seats in all courses are filled under the Bihar government’s reservation rules. Admission to PG courses at Patna University runs on separate merit lists and is not part of this test.
Who can apply for PUCET 2027?
You need to have passed, or be appearing in, Class 12 (Intermediate) from the Bihar School Examination Board or another recognised board. Each programme has its own subject rule, listed on the portal under eligibility.

What is the PUCET 2027 exam pattern?
Each programme has its own written paper of 100 marks, held in one sitting at a centre in Patna. The pattern below is from the 2026 exam programme and the programme rules on the admission portal.

What happens after the PUCET 2027 result?
The university publishes programme-wise results and then merit lists. You pay the admission fee online against your allotment letter and take it to the counselling centre for document checks on the given date.
- An allotment letter does not confirm admission. You get a provisional admission letter only after counselling.
- If you did not get your top choice, you can opt for sliding. Your seat then moves up automatically if a higher choice falls vacant in a later list.
- Miss the verification date and you lose the seat.
