WB NEET PG Counselling 2026: Round 1 Dates, Fee, Eligibility

WB NEET PG Counselling 2026 is the West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) process for State Quota, Private Management Quota and NRI Quota MD, MS, PG Diploma and DNB seats. There is no separate exam: seats go on NEET PG 2026 merit. Round 1 registration runs from 22 to 28 October 2026 on wbmcc.nic.in.

WB NEET PG Counselling 2026 Important Dates

Round 1 registration opens at 11 AM on 22 October 2026 and the Round 1 allotment result is scheduled for 4 November 2026; WBMCC will publish the Round 2, Round 3 and stray round dates later.

Which seats are filled through WB NEET PG counselling?

WBMCC fills State Quota, Private Management Quota and NRI Quota MD, MS, PG Diploma and state-sponsored DNB seats in colleges affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS). All India Quota seats in West Bengal are filled separately by MCC.

Open candidates cannot see in-service choices and in-service candidates cannot see open choices in Rounds 1 and 2; both can fill Private Management Quota choices.

How to register for WB NEET PG Counselling 2026?

You register online on wbmcc.nic.in with your NEET PG 2026 details, pay the fee, attend physical document verification, and then fill and lock choices. Round 1 registration runs from 11 AM on 22 October to 6 PM on 28 October 2026.

1. Open the WBMCC website and click New Registration under PG medical counselling.
2. Enter your NEET PG 2026 roll number, application number, name, mother’s name and date of birth. These must match the NBEMS data, which cannot be changed.
3. Complete the application, state your category (Open, In-service or Other service) and your caste status, and pay the Rs 3,000 fee online. You can edit details with Registration Unlocking only until you pay.
4. Download the Candidate Profile Letter. It shows the college, date and time slot for your physical document verification (26 to 29 October 2026 for Round 1).
5. Attend verification with original documents and one set of self-attested photocopies. After you appear in the list of verified candidates, log in with your roll number and password.
6. Fill your choices from 4 PM on 30 October to 12 midnight on 1 November 2026, save them and lock them with your password. Saved but unlocked choices are auto-locked when the window closes.

The deposit is refunded after the whole counselling ends if you get no seat, get a government college seat, surrender a seat in Round 1 or Round 2, or stay non-reported in Round 1. It is forfeited if you do not report from Round 2 onwards, if any document is found fake, or if you resign the seat after counselling ends.

Who can apply for WB NEET PG Counselling 2026?

You can apply if you qualified NEET PG 2026 at the minimum percentile for your category and meet the quota rules of the seats you want.

• The percentiles apply unless NBE or the Government of India lowers the cut off; a reduction before the online stray round lets newly eligible candidates register.
• Following the Supreme Court judgment in Tanvi Behl vs Shrey Goel, State Quota seats are only for candidates who passed MBBS from West Bengal, WB in-service doctors, and other-service candidates who passed MBBS from West Bengal.
• You need permanent registration with NMC (MCI) or a State Medical Council, and must register with the West Bengal Medical Council or NMC before admission.
• Foreign medical graduates need permanent registration, and internship completed in West Bengal to claim State Quota seats.
• The internship cut off date for NEET PG 2026 is 30 September 2026.
• In-service candidates who have done or are doing a PG degree cannot take part.

How are in-service and reserved seats allotted?

40% of State Quota degree seats and 50% of State Quota diploma seats are reserved for in-service doctors of the WB Health Department (WBMES, WBHS, WBPHAS). Vacant open seats can go to in-service candidates and vice versa.

• In-service status needs 3 years or more of regular service with rural, remote or difficult-area duty by 31 March 2026, and eligibility under the trainee reserve (TR) rules, including an age limit of 50 years on 31 March 2026.
• 5% of State Quota seats go to benchmark PwD candidates verified by the Primary Medical Assessment Board of NRS Medical College, Kolkata, or another board named by MCC.
• SC, ST, OBC and EWS seats need a certificate issued in West Bengal. Reserved candidates of other states are treated as Unreserved for State Quota seats.
• OBC candidates need a non-creamy layer certificate issued on or after 1 April 2026. EWS candidates need the West Bengal proforma certificate valid for 2026-27.
• If a reserved or PwD claim fails at verification, you are moved to Unreserved or non-PwD, provided you still meet that cut off.

Which documents are needed for WB NEET PG document verification?

Carry the originals and one self-attested photocopy of each document that applies to you, plus a printout of the Candidate Profile Letter, or verification will not be done.

• NEET PG 2026 admit card and rank card.
• Any two of voter ID (EPIC), Aadhaar and passport, plus age proof (birth certificate or Class 10 admit card or certificate).
• MBBS certificate (not needed if you completed MBBS in 2026) and final MBBS marksheet.
• Permanent registration certificate from NMC (MCI) or a State Medical Council.
• Caste certificate issued in West Bengal, OBC non-creamy layer certificate, EWS certificate or PwD certificate, as applicable.
• Proof of any earlier PG degree and completion of its bond by 30 September 2026, if applicable.
• Other-service candidates: employer ID, no objection certificate and a letter confirming 3 years of regular service in West Bengal.
• In-service candidates: declaration to the Health Department, service-quota certificate from the custodian of the service book, and posting order with joining report.

In-service candidates are verified at Swasthya Bhawan, Salt Lake. NRI candidates skip pre-choice verification; their documents are checked at the allotted college during admission.

How do the WB NEET PG counselling rounds work?

WBMCC runs Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and an online stray vacancy round, each with verification, choice filling, allotment and a second document check at the allotted college.

• Round 1 has a free exit: if you do not report, you can still join Round 2 without paying again.
• When you take admission in Round 1 or Round 2, you must give willingness at the college to take part in the next round. Once upgraded, you lose the earlier seat.
• If you do not report in Round 2, you must pay the fee and deposit again to join Round 3.
• Seat surrender is allowed in Round 1 without penalty and in Round 2 with loss of the admission fee. From Round 3 there is no surrender or upgrade, and a candidate who does not report in Round 3 is out.
• Candidates who registered but got no seat till Round 3 join the stray round directly. Fresh registration is also open in the stray round.
• In Round 3, vacant seats can be converted (Open and In-service, PwD to the parent category, SC and ST, EWS to UR). Vacant NRI seats can become Management Quota seats in the stray round.

What bond applies after WB PG medical admission?

Leaving the course before it ends costs Rs 5 lakh for a PG degree seat and Rs 2 lakh for a PG diploma seat. Open candidates must also serve the Government of West Bengal after the course.

There is no discontinuation bond for DNB courses. Bonds are signed on non-judicial stamp paper of at least Rs 100 at admission. DNB post-diploma 2-year degree seats are not part of this counselling.
