The APRCET 2025-26 syllabus has two parts. Part A, Research Methodology, is common to all candidates and has 10 units like UGC NET Paper 1. Part B is the PG-level syllabus of your Ph.D. subject. What is in the APRCET Part A (Research Methodology) syllabus?
Part A tests teaching and research aptitude through 10 units, worth 70 marks in all. It is the same for every subject and is asked in English only.

What is in the APRCET Part B subject syllabus?
Part B covers the Master’s level syllabus of the subject you apply for, worth 70 marks. Language papers are set in that language; all others are in English. In 2024-25 there were 67 test subjects, grouped below.

Some test subjects accept more than one PG degree. For example, Public Administration accepts Political Science, and Environmental Science accepts Botany, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Geography, Geology or Civil Engineering. The eligibility PDF lists the full mapping.
What is the APRCET 2025-26 exam pattern and marking?
APRCET is a 2-hour computer based test of 140 multiple choice questions, one mark each, with no negative marking. Qualified candidates then face a 60-mark interview.

How to Prepare for APRCET 2025-26
Start with Part A, because its 10 units match UGC NET Paper 1 closely and the marks count for every subject. NET Paper 1 guides and past papers are good practice for it.
- Download your subject’s Part B PDF and revise your PG notes unit by unit.
- Practise on a computer, since the test is a CBT with no negative marking.
- Attempt every question in the exam, as wrong answers cost nothing.
- Aim well above 70 out of 140 (63 for reserved categories) to reach the interview.
