Chandigarh NEET PG Counselling 2026 Important Dates
GMCH has not yet notified its Session 2026 dates; MCC’s national schedule fixes state counselling Round 1 for 21 October to 2 November 2026, and GMCH will post its own round dates on gmch.gov.in. In 2025 the GMCH prospectus came out on 7 November 2025, after MCC’s Round 1 had already begun.

Which MD/MS seats are filled through Chandigarh NEET PG counselling?
Only GMCH, Sector 32 takes part, and its state quota is split into two pools. In Session 2025 it had 155 MD/MS seats: 76 All India Quota seats filled through MCC NEET PG counselling, and 75 state quota seats plus 4 EWS seats filled by GMCH.

How to apply for Chandigarh NEET PG Counselling 2026?
You apply online on the GMCH website, upload your documents, pay the fee and then fill specialty choices online in each round. These steps follow the Session 2025 prospectus; the Session 2026 prospectus may change details.
Apply Online for Chandigarh NEET PG Counselling 2026
The Chandigarh NEET PG Counselling 2026 application dates have not been announced yet.
- Open the GMCH admissions page once the MD/MS Session 2026 notice is out, and read the prospectus.
- Click Candidate Registration. Your Registration ID and password are sent to your registered email.
- Log in through Candidate Login, fill in your details and choose your pool (IP, UT Chandigarh or IP+UT) and category. Pool and category cannot be added after submission.
- Upload your photo and signature (JPG, under 50 KB) and the certificates listed in the prospectus.
- Pay the application fee online, make the final submission and print the form.
- Check the deficient-documents list and the provisionally eligible list on gmch.gov.in, then fill and lock your specialty choices online for each counselling round.

Who can apply for Chandigarh NEET PG Counselling 2026?
You can apply for GMCH state quota seats if you qualify NEET PG 2026 and fit the IP Pool or the UT Chandigarh Pool. These rules are from the Session 2025 prospectus.
- Indian citizen. OCI card holders who got the card before 4 March 2021 can apply for General seats of either pool.
- In the NEET PG merit list with at least the 50th percentile (General, EWS, OCI), 45th percentile (General PwBD) or 40th percentile (SC, OBC, including PwBD), or any lower percentile notified by the Centre.
- Compulsory rotating internship completed by the cut-off date set by NMC (31 July 2025 for Session 2025).
- Registration with NMC or a State Medical Council.
- IP Pool: MBBS from GMCH-32, with the final professional marks sheet from the Director-Principal, GMCH-32.
- UT Chandigarh Pool: Class 10, 11 and 12 passed as a regular student of a school recognised by the Chandigarh Administration and located in UT Chandigarh, with a principal’s certificate and a notarised affidavit that you have not claimed residence in any other State or UT after the NEET result.
- SC, OBC, EWS and PwBD claims must have been made in the NEET PG application form.
How do the GMCH MD/MS counselling rounds work?
Seats are allotted online from a common merit list on NEET PG rank, and you report at GMCH-32 only after you get a seat.
- There is no physical counselling in the main rounds: you fill specialty choices online, and results are posted on gmch.gov.in pool-wise with NEET PG ranks.
- PwBD seats are filled first, then General seats, then SC, OBC and EWS seats. Own-merit reserved candidates can take General seats.
- An IP Pool candidate is first considered for IP seats and, if eligible, then for UT Chandigarh Pool seats in the preferred specialty.
- To take part in the Second or Third counselling, you must surrender the seat you hold online within the notified window.
- Unfilled reserved seats are converted to General seats in the Second counselling, and vacant IP Pool seats go to UT Chandigarh Pool General candidates.
- Seats left after the Third counselling go to a Stray Vacancy Round with a fresh online application. Candidates from other states may apply only in this round, as General candidates, and the round is held in person at GMCH-32.
- If you leave the course within one year after the last date of admission, you pay a penalty of Rs 5 lakh.
What documents are needed for Chandigarh NEET PG counselling?
Selected candidates report for document verification and a medical examination at the Director-Principal Office, Level II, D Block, GMCH-32, with originals and one set of self-attested copies.
- Printout of the online application form and the NEET PG 2026 result card.
- Class 10 certificate showing date of birth, detailed marks sheets of all MBBS professional exams and the internship completion certificate.
- NMC or State Medical Council registration certificate.
- Proof of IP Pool or UT Chandigarh Pool eligibility, and the notarised affidavit if you claim the UT Pool.
- SC, OBC or EWS certificate from UT Chandigarh, PwBD certificate from an NMC-notified centre, or OCI card, if applicable.
- NOC and relieving certificate from your employer if you are in service.
- Character and conduct certificate from the institution last attended, and migration certificate if available.
What is the MD/MS fee at GMCH-32 Chandigarh?
GMCH charges a low yearly tuition fee plus Panjab University charges. These are the latest official figures, from the Session 2025 prospectus.

Hostel and other charges are extra. PG students join as Junior Residents on a three-year contract bond and are paid a stipend as notified by the Chandigarh Administration.
