eCHAT is the entrance test conducted by Edexel every year in collaboration with International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM). eChat stands for Electronic Common Hotel Admission Test and is one of the most prestigious examination for Hotel Management (HM) admissions. eCHAT is the entrance test for the admissions in Hotel Management courses. Candidates have to appear for the online test then afterwards, they will be called for GD/PI round. The merit list of successful eCHAT candidates will be prepared and displayed online on the official . The list will comprise of the names of the candidates who get provisionally shortlisted. Then, these candidates are called to appear for counselling where they are required to produce their original certificates and also submit the course fees. After all the formalities, the final results will be declared and intimated to the selected students online.

Eligibility criteria for eCHAT admissions
- Academic requirement- Pass in 12th examination or its equivalent
- Subject requirement- English as one of the Subjects.
- Appearing in qualifying examination candidates- Those applicants who will be appearing in Class 12th or equivalent examination may also appear in eCHAT.
- Age Limit – 22 years up to the examination year
Exam pattern of eCHAT
eCHAT online entrance exam will have 50 Objective type questions which have to be completed in 60 minutes by the appearing candidates. There will be 4 options for 1 question. Questions can come from the topics like- Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and Interpretation, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Awareness of Indian & Global Economy. The question paper may have questions from fields like:-

- True/False (One answer)
- Text fill-in-the-blank
- Numeric fill-in-the-blank
- Multiple selection
eCHAT Selection Criteria
The aspirants of eCHAT will be required to apply in online or offline mode for the exam but the entrance test will be conducted in online mode only. All the candidates must appear in the exam and pass it with minimum percentage as per the guidelines of clearing eCHAT. If the candidates are declared qualified in the online examination, then their names will be featured in the merit list. Those candidates, whose names are featured in the merit list will be required to attend the GD/PI round to book their seats in the concerned course. However, they need to produce their original documents arranged in order for submission and verification and clear all the set criteria.
