National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) is conducting Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) for admission to B.Sc in HA. On basis of NCHMCT JEE, B.Sc Hospitality in Hotel Administration course is offered by 58 colleges which are considered among top hotel management colleges in India. About NCHMCT JEE 2018 – Date of exam is 28th April 2018. NCHM is conducting this national level entrance exam at 33 centres in India. Admission will only be on basis of marks obtained in entrance exam subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria. NCHM allots seats to students on the basis of merit-cum-preference. There is no group discussion or personal interview. NCHMCT JEE 2018 is being held in 33 cities in India.

NCHMCT JEE 2018 Application Form

Candidates must fill NCHMCT JEE 2018 application form through www.nchm.nic.in. A fee payment gateway is integrated in the application form and candidates must pay fee application fee using that. The application form is available for a period of more than 3 months.

Steps to apply

  1. Create login: In this step, candidate will enter name, date of birth, category, email ID. Application t the end of this step, an acknowledgement is generated and sent to email ID of applicant.
  2. Enter details in application form: To start this step, candidate will log in using email ID and date of birth. Then proceed to Action 1 on next screen that says “Fill Application”. Now ebter details including choice of test, language of question paper, mother’s name, father’s name, category, nationality, gender, class 10 marks, class 12 marks (if passed), year of class 12.
  3. Upload photograph and signature

  5. Print form

NCHMCT JEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should be eligible in order to appear in exam and get admission on basis of it. Here are the eligibility criteria of NCHMCT JEE 2018:

Educational qualification

Candidate should have passed or is appearing 10+2 with English as a subject. Those candidates who are appearing in 2018, they should have proof of passing QE by 30th September 2018.

Age limit

Candidates belonging to general or OBC category can be at max 22 years old as on 1st July 2018. Therefore those who are born on or after 1st July 1996 are only eligible. Likewise candidates belonging to SC/ST category can be at max 25 years old. Thus they should be born on or after 1st July 1993.

Direct Admission To Board Toppers

NCHMCT JEE 2018: Exam Date, Application Form, Admit Card, ResultEach IHMs have 3 seats for class 2 rank holders (one each for Arts, Science and Commerce stream) from among 1st to 200th rank holders.

Condition: Candidates must be from recognized Boards of school examination wherein up to 2 lacs candidates appear or 1st to 500th rank holders from Board of Examination where 2 lacs to 5 lacs candidates take the examination.

NCHMCT JEE 2018 Admit Card

Candidates must take admit card to exam hall on day of exam.

NCHMCT JEE 2018 Admit Card is available online on the official website. Only those who have submitted application form with fee on time can download it as per schedule given above. Candidates must download it in duplicate.

Candidates can log in to the website using email ID and date of birth. Then they can download admit card. The admit card contains details such as centre / venue of examination and other important details.

If there is any discrepancy (meaning information in admit card does not match with documents of candidate) in admit card, then it should be brought to the notice of JEE Cell via email to [email protected] One copy of admit card duly attested is submitted at exam hall. Candidates need to keep second copy safely.

NCHM shall not send admit card by post or any other means. It will also not allow candidates to enter exam hall without admit card.

How to change exam centre?

Normally NCHM does not consider changing exam centres. However, only under exceptional circumstances, they are permitting it with valid reasons.

Candidates must send an application to JEE Cell on or before April 11, 2018, with non-refundable fee of Rs 1000 through DD in favor of NCHMCT, payable at Delhi/NOIDA.

NCHM has rights to reject requests if they are not in a position to accommodate candidates in a centre.

NCHMCT JEE 2018 Result

NCHMCT JEE 2018 Result is published at www.nchmcounselling.nic.in and www.nchm.nic.in in the third week of May 2018. NCHM shall offer admission to candidates solely on basis of NCHMCT JEE 2018 Result (All India Rank). The award of rank is only on basis of marks obtained in Joint Entrance Exam (out of 200). There are no group discussion or interviews.

Seat allotment will be as per rank obtained.

Tie Breaking

When two or more test takers get same marks then tie breaking rules are brought into effect. They are:

  • One who gets more marks in English component gets higher rank.
  • If they get equal marks in English component then one who gets higher marks in Service Aptitude gets higher rank.
  • If tie persists then one who is older gets better rank.

NCHM Counselling 2018

NCHM conducts counselling after declaration of result. There are 3 rounds. It takes place in third week of May 2018. During counselling, the authorities will check eligibility of candidates, verify documents. Candidates will deposit counselling and first semester fee and fill choice of institutes.

Candidates should give as many choices as they can after reviewing all options.

Candidates need to pay seat acceptance fee (there is no need to pay any fee for counselling). The seat acceptance fee includes part of Ist Semester Fee (Rs.39000+1000 Counselling charges).

Private affiliated institutes

While the fee of the Central and State Government Institutes is uniformly fixed by NCHMCT as given above, fee in case of Private affiliated Institutes may be downloaded from website of respective private Institute. Candidates may also ascertain from the websites of private institutes the availability of hostel and charges for mess and room rent thereof, so that the candidates are fully aware about the charges that are payable to such Institutes. Those who claim reservation need to submit original caste / tribe certificate. NCHM shall not fill other category candidates in seats remaining vacant in these categories.

Reservation for OBC-NCL is only for those whose name is listed in Central Government OBC list for admission in Central Govt. Institutes of Hotel Management only. Candidates may please note that the OBC NCL caste certificate should be issued on or after April 1, 2017.

Reservation for Physically disabled is for loco motor, visual, dyslexia, speech, and /or hearing. NCHM shall give benefit to those who have at least 40% physical impairment but able to perform kitchen and other practical classes that are a part of the course.

Certificate Issued By – for admission purposes

SC, ST, OBC certificate should be issued by District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/Collector/Deputy Commissioner/Additional Deputy Commissioner/Deputy Collector/1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate/City Magistrate/Sub-Divisional Magistrate/Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Presidency Magistrate/Land and Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar where the candidate and/or his/her family normally resides.

Physically disabled candidates will get percentage of disability certified by Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Central Govt. / State Govt./ Municipal Corporation run Hospitals only. Dyslexia Certificate should either from the clinical psychologist department of a Govt Hospital or froma RCI registered clinical psychologist attached with a registered hospital.

About B.Sc Hospitality and Hotel Administration

NCHM and IGNOU jointly offer this course. It is of 3 years and has 6 semesters. It equips a student with skill sets necessary for supervisory responsibilities in Hospitality sector.

The program includes laboratory work to gain knowledge and skills in operational areas of Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Front Office Operation and House Keeping. In addition it develops managerials knowledge of Hotel Accountancy, Food Safety & Quality, Human Resource Management, Facility Planning, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Tourism Marketing and Management.

Option for “Only Vegetarian” is also available in 6 affiliated institues.

Yes, you are eligible. NCHM has not specified any minimum percentage for appearing in Joint Entrance Exam.

Is it necessary to take coaching to score high in exam?

Not it is absolutely not necessary to take coaching. You can do well in exam by self studies also. The advantage of self study is that it gives you enough time to focus on studies. If you go to coaching then you have to waste a lot of time in travelling. However, if you find any topic difficult then you should seek help.

Are calculators allowed in exam?

No. candidates are not allowed to take any textual material, Calculators, Docu Pen, Slide rules, Log Tables, Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, printed or written material, bits of papers, mobile phone, pager or any other electronic device, except the Admit Card inside the Examination Room/ Hall.
