Is the DU DSE MA Economics entrance exam 2027 being held?
No. The Delhi School of Economics no longer holds its own M.A. Economics entrance test. The paper later ran as part of DUET, which was last held in October 2022, and from the 2023-24 session the University of Delhi admits M.A. Economics students only on their CUET (PG) score in the Economics paper, code COQP10.
| Step | What you do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Entrance test | Take CUET (PG) 2027 in the Economics paper (COQP10) | NTA, exams.nta.nic.in/cuet-pg |
| 2. DU application | Register on CSAS (PG) and choose M.A. Economics, Department of Economics | pgadmission.uod.ac.in, after the CUET (PG) result |
| 3. Seat allocation | Accept the allotted seat, get documents approved and pay the fee | Your CSAS (PG) dashboard |
So if you were preparing for the DSE entrance, prepare for CUET PG 2027 instead. A good CUET (PG) score alone does not get you a seat; you must also apply to DU on its CSAS (PG) portal.

How does DU allot MA Economics seats?
Seats are filled in several CSAS (PG) rounds, followed by spot rounds, using your CUET (PG) score, category, eligibility and preference order. In 2026 the rounds ran from June to August.
- Accept the allotted seat before the round’s deadline, or you lose it.
- After admission you can choose Upgrade, to be considered for a higher preference, or Freeze, to keep your seat.
- C2 seats go only to DU students who meet the C2 eligibility.
If two candidates have the same score, DU first prefers the higher average of the first five semesters of the degree, then the higher marks in the last semester or year, and then the earlier date of birth.
Are old DSE MA Economics entrance papers still useful?
Yes, for practice in the same subject areas. DU MA Economics papers from the DUET years with answers are free: the 2018 paper and the 2020 paper. More are on our DUET question papers page.
