IBSAT 2021 Exam Pattern
Like any other MBA entrance exam which tests the general aptitude ability, the IBSAT is divided into four sections testing the aptitude of the candidates in English, Quantitative Ability, and data understanding and interpretation. The exam carries a total of 140 questions with each question carrying 1 mark. Total time allotted to complete the exam will be 120 mins with no sectional time limit. For every right answer 1 mark will be awarded. There is no scheme of negative marking this year. Based on analysis from previous year exams, the difficulty level of the exam is expected to be easy to moderate. This year there is no general awareness section in IBSAT.

IBSAT Preparation Strategy
Applicants preparing for the IBSAT exam should go through the syllabus thoroughly, make a strategy and must prepare accordingly. Some important tips are given below to prepare for IBSAT 2021.
Basics is the key: Basics of every concept of the syllabus is definitely a key to solve any level of difficulty of the question. Have a clear and strong understanding of the basics of the topic and you can make short notes of the same for easy revision.
Prioritize the sections- The best way to get ahead of the competition is to not just work hard, but also to work smart. Try to prioritize the section that you are good at and work on your strength.
Timing and accuracy.- Timing and accuracy is very important for these kinds of exams. Set the time limit to solve a certain number of questions in order to increase your speed. Accuracy comes through practice. As you practice more, both accuracy and timing efficiency improve.
Previous year question papers– Go through previous year’s question papers to have a clear understanding of what kind of questions are asked, difficulty level, which topic is given more weightage, and so on. Previous year question papers are very useful for students to strategize the preparation and thus not to study too much or too less.
Mock tests– Everything is worthless if not practiced properly. Solving mocks definitely give an edge to students not only in terms of accuracy and speed but also help to give in-centre exam solving experience to students.

Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension
Understanding the exam pattern you can see the verbal ability section carries the maximum weightage with 50 questions. And if you look at overall weightage, English as a subject carries a total of 80 questions. Thus a good hold on English can be very helpful in IBSAT exam.
If your English skills are poor, start from basics and work on general verbal skills. Here are some tips for the preparing verbal ability section of IBSAT 2021:
- Make it a practice to learn a new word everyday
- Practice grammar questions, error spotting etc
- Reading newspaper improve basic reading skills and also speed of reading
- Read online articles of interest
- Try to solve 2-3 reading passages daily
Quantitative Ability
This section consists of 30 questions. Accuracy and calculation speed is key to ace this section. Though questions are easy to moderate, speed becomes very important for this section. Follow the given tips for the quant section:
