Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi, a flying training institution in the country which trains the personnel to become a commercial pilot. The Akademi conducts IGRUA entrance examination every year to select the eligible candidates for the course of CPL (Commercial Pilot License). The admission to the course is given on the basis of Online Written Test followed by the interview round and the Pilot Aptitude Test/ Psychometric Test. Eligibility Criteria
The candidates who are willing to apply for the IGRUA Entrance Exam, must be eligible to do the same. The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi has set the eligibility norms in terms of age and Educational Qualifications. The eligibility conditions are as follows:
Age Factor- The candidates must have completed the age of 17 years at the time of joining.
Educational Qualifications- The educational qualifications are decided as per the category of the candidate which is given below in the table:
General Candidates | Must have Passed English at 10+2 level (class 12th) with Minimum 50% Aggregate Marks in Maths & Physics |
SC / ST / OBC Candidates | Must have Passed English at 10+2 level (class 12th) with Minimum 45% Aggregate Marks in Maths & Physics |
Important Note- If in case the candidates belonging to reserved categories (ST/SC/OBC) do not qualify even after the 5% aggregate relaxation in the Online Written test then the seats would be de- reserved for General Category.
Selection Criteria
The selection criteria for the course include the Online Written Examination (Computer Based Test) followed by the Interview round and the Pilot Aptitude Test. To take the admission in the course of CPL (Commercial Pilot License), candidates have to clear every stage of examination. The applicants who will qualify the Online written Test will be called for the Interview session. After that, the selected candidates will have to appear for the Pilot Aptitude Test. The final selection will be done on the basis of the marks obtained in the Aptitude Test. After knowing the selection criteria, let us take a look at the exam pattern.
Online Written Examination
The online written test will be conducted in the prescribed centers as allotted to the candidates. It will be conducted in the following pattern:
Subjects | General English, Maths, Physics, Reasoning & Current Affairs (10+2 level objective type questions only and No negative marking ) |
Qualifying Mark | The cutoff marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates will be 5% less from the cut off marks secured by the last candidate in the General category. |
Interview / Viva Voce
The candidates will be shortlisted for the Interview round on the basis of their performance in the Online Written examination. In the interview session, the documents of the candidates will be verified. Therefore candidates must bring the documents that are listed below:
- Proof of Date of Birth ( such as 10th Class certificate )
- 10th Mark sheet
- 10+2 Mark sheet
- Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC Candidates
- A Certificate from the competent Authority that the OBC Candidate does not belong to Creamy layer.
- Admit Card Downloaded for Written Test
Pilot Aptitude Test / Psychometric Test
Only successful candidates in Pilot Aptitude / Psychometric Test shall qualify for final selection. No relaxation criteria will be applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates in Pilot Aptitude/Psychometric Test.
