IGRUA 2027 is the entrance examination of Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi, Fursatganj (Amethi), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, for its Ab-initio to Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) course. The 2027 advertisement is expected between February and April 2027, and the online written test is expected in May 2027.

IGRUA has not announced the 2027 schedule yet; IGRUA says its advertisement usually comes in March or April, and in 2026 it came in February, so the 2027 dates below are expected months based on the 2026 schedule.

How to Apply for IGRUA 2027
You apply online only, through the Entrance section of igrua.gov.in, which opens the application portal run by TCS iON once the advertisement is out. No changes are allowed after you pay the fee and submit the form.
Apply Online for IGRUA 2027
Applications for IGRUA 2027 are expected in April 2027.
- Open the IGRUA entrance page when the 2027 advertisement is published and read the advertisement in full.
- Register with a valid email ID and mobile number. Your user ID and password are sent to your registered email.
- Log in and fill in the form: personal details, 10+2 marks in English, Mathematics and Physics, three test-centre choices and, if you want it, the FSTC type-rating option.
- Enter your DGCA computer number, which is mandatory for CPL aspirants and can be generated on the DGCA eGCA portal.
- Upload a recent passport-size photograph and your signature, then pay the fee online by internet banking, debit card or credit card.
- Save the submitted form as a PDF and keep a printout. A confirmation mail is sent to your registered email.

The fee is non-refundable. In 2026 the same portal also took applications for IGRUA’s AME course at a fee of Rs 2,000.
Who can apply for IGRUA 2027?
You can apply if you have passed 10+2 with English, Mathematics and Physics and meet the age, marital and medical conditions below, as set in the 2026 advertisement.
- Marks: at least 50% in each of English, Mathematics and Physics at 10+2 for General candidates, and 45% in each for SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer) and EWS candidates.
- Age: maximum 28 years for General, 31 for OBC and 33 for SC/ST (as on 1 January 2026 for the 2026 entrance); minimum 17 years at the time of joining.
- Marital status: single or unmarried.
- Height: at least 5 feet 2 inches.
- Medical: selected candidates must clear the DGCA Class 1 medical and submit the fitness certificate.
- Class 12 result awaited: you may apply provisionally, but must show the qualifying marksheet before the interview and aptitude test.
- Women candidates can apply.
What is the IGRUA 2027 exam pattern and selection process?
Selection has three stages, and only those who clear each stage move to the next.

The final merit adds your 10+2 marks in Physics, Mathematics and English to your marks in the written test, English proficiency, interview and pilot aptitude test. The written-test cut-off for SC, ST, OBC and EWS candidates is 5% below the score of the last General candidate selected. IGRUA does not publish the number of questions or marks per question.
How many seats does IGRUA offer?
The 2026 entrance filled 125 seats in the Ab-initio to CPL course with Multi-Engine endorsement and Instrument Rating, a course of about 36 months run in two batches (July 2026 and January 2027).

Cadets can also opt for a 3-year B.Sc. (Aviation) degree run alongside the CPL course, with 120 seats under Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University. The training fee is Rs 55 lakh; the full cost break-up is on the IGRUA result page.
