Which seats does KEA fill through Karnataka PGET 2026?
KEA fills the state share of MD, MS, PG Diploma and MDS seats in Karnataka colleges, plus the private, NRI and other seats of private colleges. Seats are coded G (Government), P (Private), N (NRI) and Q (Others).

Karnataka in-service doctors can also apply for PG DNB and Diploma seats through the same 2026 notification. For All India Quota and deemed university seats, register separately in MCC NEET PG counselling.

You register online with your NEET PG 2026 roll number, pay the fee and then clear original document verification at KEA. Only candidates who finish both steps can enter options.

The Karnataka NEET PG Counselling 2026 application window (14 to 19 August 2026) has closed.

- Open the KEA PG Medical 2026 application link before 11 AM on 15 October 2026.
- Create your profile with your NEET PG 2026 roll number. Your name, date of birth and score are fetched from NBEMS data, and an OTP goes to the mobile number registered with NBEMS.
- Enter your eligibility clause code, reservation category, in-service status (if any), education and contact details.
- Upload your photograph, left thumb impression and signature, then pay the registration fee online.
- Check every entry and submit the declaration. Nothing can be changed after the declaration, so take a print of the final form.
- If your clause needs verification, book a slot and attend document verification at KEA, Malleshwaram, Bengaluru with originals and two sets of photocopies.

Candidates under Clause a (MBBS from Karnataka) or Clause y (MBBS from outside Karnataka) need not attend verification unless they claim NRI ward or religious minority seats. All other clauses must book a slot; booking opened on 7 October 2026.
Who can apply for Karnataka PGET 2026?
You can apply if you scored at least the NEET PG 2026 or NEET MDS 2026 qualifying percentile and meet one of KEA’s eligibility clauses for the seat type you want.
- Non-Karnataka candidates get no reservation and must reach the 50th percentile fixed for General (UR). SC, ST and OBC relaxed percentiles apply only to Karnataka candidates.
- Government (G) seats: Indian citizens with MBBS or BDS from Karnataka (Clause a), or with ten years of study in Karnataka including SSLC or 2nd PUC (Clauses b and c), plus special clauses d to g.
- Private GMP seats need Clause b or c. OPN seats are open to any Indian citizen with a recognised MBBS or BDS. Other (Q) seats are open to all NEET qualified candidates except NRI, PIO, OCI and foreign nationals.
- NRI seats are for NRIs, NRI wards, PIO, OCI and foreign nationals.
- Internship must be complete by the NBEMS cut-off date (31 May 2026 for NEET MDS 2026). Foreign medical graduates must have cleared FMGE.
- Candidates who already hold a PG degree in a clinical specialty are not eligible.
- Karnataka SC candidates need a caste certificate showing internal reservation (SCA, SCB or SCC) with its RD number to claim SC seats.
How do KEA PG counselling rounds work?
KEA allots seats online in Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 (mop-up) and a stray vacancy round, on NEET merit, your options and the government roster.
- You enter options once before Round 1. A mock allotment follows so you can add, delete or reorder options before the real allotment.
- After Round 1 you pick one of four choices: 1 (accept and join), 2 (pay fees, keep the seat and try for a higher option), 3 (surrender the seat and try again) or 4 (quit KEA counselling).
- There is no choice after Round 2. A seat allotted in Round 2 must be taken: pay the fees, collect the admission order and report to the college.
- Round 3 (mop-up) needs fresh options. Candidates who joined a KEA-allotted college may take part for upgradation, but a new allotment cancels the old seat.
- The stray vacancy round is only for candidates who hold no KEA seat and have not joined an MCC or deemed university seat.
- In 2026 PG Dental, a caution deposit was needed to enter later rounds: Rs 1,00,000 for Round 2 (Rs 50,000 SC/ST) and Rs 4,00,000 for Round 3 (Rs 1,00,000 SC/ST), adjusted against fees if a seat is allotted.
What are the penalties and service bonds in Karnataka PG admission?
Leaving a seat late costs money, and every PG admission comes with service bonds under Karnataka rules (2026 bulletin).

KEA finished MDS Rounds 1 and 2 in September 2026 (final lists on 11 and 24 September) and is now running Round 3 (mop-up) for seats left vacant.

The provisional 2026 fee structure lists Rs 65,000 for MDS in a government dental college. For most clinical MDS subjects in private unaided colleges it lists Rs 3,72,076 on government-quota seats and Rs 6,80,684 on private-quota seats.

Carry these originals with two sets of photocopies (2026 bulletin list). Laminated marks cards are not verified.

Is Karnataka NEET PG counselling 2026 registration open?
Yes. KEA PG Medical registration opened on 5 October 2026 and closes at 11 AM on 15 October 2026. PG Dental registration closed on 19 August 2026.
Does KEA hold its own PG medical entrance exam?
No. KEA only runs the counselling. Merit comes from NEET PG 2026 (held by NBEMS on 30 August 2026) for MD and MS, and from NEET MDS 2026 for MDS.
Can candidates from outside Karnataka apply?
Yes, if they reach the General (UR) 50th percentile. Without a Karnataka clause they can compete for OPN private seats and Other (Q) seats, but not Government seats or reservation.
Can I take part in both MCC and KEA counselling?
Yes, register for both. But once you join an MCC or deemed university seat, you cannot take part in KEA’s mop-up or stray vacancy rounds.
When is the Karnataka MDS Round 3 result?
KEA has scheduled the MDS Round 3 provisional result for 14 October 2026 after 11 AM and the final result the same day after 6 PM. Allotted candidates must report by 19 October 2026.
