KMAT 2026 (Karnataka Management Aptitude Test) is the MBA, PGDM and MCA entrance test of the Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges’ Association (KPPGCA), used by its 189 member institutions in Karnataka. How to Apply for KMAT 2026
You apply for KMAT 2026 online on KPPGCA’s registration portal, which is open till 31 October 2026. Candidates who want to take both the MBA and the MCA test must register for each test separately, and get two separate hall tickets.
Apply Online for KMAT 2026
Applications for KMAT 2026 open on By 31 October 2026.
- Open the KMAT 2026 registration portal and choose to register as a new candidate.
- Enter your full name, date of birth (as in your Class 10 certificate), gender, email ID and mobile number.
- Select the course you are applying for (MBA or MCA) and your nativity: Karnataka or non-Karnataka.
- Note the application number (it starts with KMAT) and complete the form with your address and graduation stream.
- Upload a scanned passport-size photograph and signature, each up to 200 KB.
- Pay the fee online and keep the candidate summary sheet with payment details as confirmation.

The fee is non-refundable unless it was paid twice for the same course. KPPGCA’s FAQ page still shows an older figure of Rs 873 including GST, but the registration portal asks for Rs 1,230.
How to log in to the KMAT 2026 candidate portal?
You use the KMAT 2026 login to return to your application and fee payment, and to check your KMAT 2026 result and scorecard; the admit card is also issued to registered candidates before the test.
- Open the official KMAT 2026 login page. The ‘KMAT 2026 Result’ button on kmatindia.com opens the same page.
- Enter your Application Number in the format shown (it starts with KMAT).
- Enter your date of birth as given in your application.
- Complete the reCAPTCHA check and click Login.
- Your account opens with your application details and the links that are live at that stage, such as the result.

Who can apply for KMAT 2026?
You can apply for KMAT 2026 if you hold a Bachelor’s degree of at least three years, or a Master’s degree, from a recognised institution with the minimum marks below.
- At least 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree; 45% for SC and ST candidates.
- Final-year degree students can apply if they meet the percentage rule.
- Degrees in commerce, management, arts, social sciences, engineering or technology, or an equivalent discipline, are accepted.
- Candidates from outside Karnataka can apply; the form only asks whether you are a Karnataka or non-Karnataka candidate.
- Member colleges may set extra conditions, so check the rules of the colleges you target.
What is the KMAT 2026 exam pattern?
KMAT 2026 has 120 multiple-choice questions in three sections of 40 each, with one mark per correct answer and no negative marking. You can move freely between sections. The MBA and MCA tests differ only in the third section.

- Mode: home-based online remote proctored test, so there are no test centres or test cities.
- Duration: 2 hours; Session 2 is reported for 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
- Marking: +1 for each correct answer, no marks deducted for wrong answers.
- Scorecard: net score with percentile.

Which colleges accept KMAT 2026 scores?
KMAT scores are accepted by the member institutions of KPPGCA, which lists 189 AICTE-approved, university-affiliated institutions across Bengaluru and the rest of Karnataka. Its site counts 159 member institutions for MBA and 69 for MCA.
There is no central counselling. Each member college shortlists candidates on their KMAT score and then runs its own admission steps.
