MU LLM CET 2027 is the centre-based online entrance test for the two-year LL.M. at the Department of Law and the law colleges affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The university’s Department of Law conducts it. The 2027 dates are not out yet; applications are expected in April to May 2027 and the exam in June 2027.

How to Apply for MU LLM CET 2027
You apply for MU LLM CET 2027 online only, through the LL.M. CET application link on mu.ac.in, once the University of Mumbai publishes the advertisement, expected in April 2027. In 2026 the form ran on a TCS iON (DigiAlm) portal and the window was extended once, to 15 May, 11 AM.
Apply Online for MU LLM CET 2027
Applications for MU LLM CET 2027 are expected in April 2027.
- Open mu.ac.in and click the Online LL.M. CET Exam link for 2027-28, when it appears.
- Click New? Register Here and register with your basic details. You get an application number or login ID and a password.
- Log in and fill the application form. Choose your category, any quota and your test city with care.
- Upload your photo, signature and, for reserved categories, your Maharashtra caste certificate, non-creamy layer certificate or EWS certificate as needed.
- Pay the exam fee online through the payment gateway.
- Download the fee receipt and keep your login details for the admit card and score card.

The fee is non-refundable and incomplete forms are rejected. You cannot change your category or quota later at any stage of LL.M. admission, so pick it correctly in the form. In 2026 Pune, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar and Nagpur were added as test city options during registration.
Who can apply for MU LLM CET 2027?
You can apply if you have passed the 3-year or 5-year LL.B., or are appearing in its final semester, from the University of Mumbai or any other recognised university. The 2026 guidelines set no minimum LL.B. percentage for applying.
- To be considered for admission you must score at least 40 out of 100 (General) or 30 out of 100 (Reserved) in the CET.
- Reserved-category candidates need certificates issued by the Government of Maharashtra.
- OBC, SBC, DT/NT and SEBC candidates need a valid non-creamy layer certificate or the receipt of its application.
- Quota candidates (Divyang, freedom fighter’s ward, orphan, widow, ex-serviceman, sports, cultural) need the certificate from the competent authority.
- The score is valid only for admission in that academic year.
What is the MU LLM CET 2027 exam pattern?
MU LLM CET is a one-hour, centre-based online test with 50 objective questions for 100 marks and no negative marking. This is the 2026 pattern, which is expected to continue in 2027.

How does LL.M. admission work after MU LLM CET 2027?
Admission after the CET is not centralised. You must apply to each institution, the Department of Law or an affiliated law college, on its own, and each admits strictly by CET merit and the Maharashtra reservation policy.
At the Department of Law in 2026, candidates filled a Google Form with their group preferences, a final general merit list came on 25 July, and seats in six LL.M. groups were filled in rounds with document checks at the Fort campus. Ties in CET marks are broken by LL.B. marks, then HSC marks. Score card, cut off and admission steps are on the MU LLM CET 2027 result page.
