- Enter your roll number from the admit card.
- Check your marks and qualifying status.

Panjab University does not issue separate result cards, so the downloaded copy is your record.
What marks do you need to qualify the PU Ph.D. Entrance Test?
You need 50% marks in Paper I and Paper II taken together, but Paper II is evaluated only if you clear the Paper I cut-off first.

Paper I has 50 one-mark questions with no negative marking, so your Paper I score is the number of correct answers. Check them against the official key from 29 September 2026. Candidates with equal marks are ranked by their percentage in the qualifying exam, then the exam below it, then age.
Can you get your PU Ph.D. answer sheet verified?
There is no re-evaluation or re-checking, but you can get a photocopy of your OMR answer sheet for Rs 10,000 within 10 days of the result. The university completes the check in three working days. If a mistake is found, your result is revised and the fee is refunded.
What happens after the PU Ph.D. 2026 result?
After the result, you submit the Ph.D. admission form to the department, which calls eligible candidates for a compulsory interview.
- You can deposit the admission form only after the result is declared.
- Departments call candidates for interview based on the number of Ph.D. seats available.
- The prospectus gives 70% weight to academic performance and 30% to the interview for selection.
- Applications are processed in four admission cycles a year, ending 31 January, 30 April, 31 July and 31 October, with a fresh merit list each cycle.
- A pass in the test stays valid for 3 years.

Yes. The Faculty of Engineering runs its own Ph.D. entrance test, held on 27 September 2026, and its result was declared on 6 October 2026 at results.puexam.in. This does not include the main PU Ph.D. Entrance Test for other faculties.
