WBJEEB has released the result of PUBDET & PUMDET 2018 on June 2. The Board has publish the merit list on its website and final allotment of seats will be made through counselling to be conducted by the WBJEEB. The Board neither publishes nor communicates the result to any individual applicant. It does not have any provision for post-publication scrutiny or review and hence such requests will not be entertained. Evaluation and declaration of result

  • The final result is published in the form of Rank Cards, which contain all relevant ranks and total score. Rank cards is available only from the portal www.wbjeeb.in
  • Candidates can view and download their rank card by logging in with their password.
  • Duplicate rank cards cannot be generated at any later stage after a specified date. Hence candidates are advised to retain their rank cards carefully in secured place in undamaged condition for all future purpose.
  • Ranks will be awarded to all candidates, who appear for PUBDET/PUMDET-2018.
  • But all those, who appear in the examination and have a rank, may not be eligible for counselling, for which a cut off rank and/or a cut off score will be decided by the board, which will be announced at the time of publication of the result

Ranking Methodology and publication of Merit Lists

WBJEEB will publish a merit rank list based on the candidates’ score in entrance tests.

  • This List shall be in the name and style of ‘GMR’ (General Merit Rank)
  • Separate reserved category merit rank shall also be published for respective category of students e.g. SC Rank, ST Rank, OBC-A Rank, OBC-B Rank, PwD Rank.
  • But only ‘GMR’ shall be applicable for sequencing the counselling and seat allotment.
  • Ranking of the said Merit List shall be done in the descending order of marks scored in the entrance test.
  • However, there may be ties and following tie-breaking rule shall be applicable to them in the determination of their merit rank.

Tie-breaking Methodology in Merit Rank

  • In case of a tie, the candidate obtaining less negative score will have the better rank.
  • If a tie exists still thereafter, all such candidates will be awarded the same rank and will be considered for counselling and admission with bunching effect.
