Odisha B.Ed Entrance 2027: Dates, Form, Pattern

The Odisha B.Ed Entrance Test 2027 is the state test for admission to 2-year B.Ed., B.H.Ed. and M.Ed. courses in Odisha. The State Selection Board (SSB) sets the test, and admission runs on the SAMS portal of the Higher Education Department. Applications are expected in March to April 2027 and the test in May to June 2027.

Latest (29 September 2026): Odisha extended Phase-I B.Ed. admission for 2026-27 with one more spot round for vacant seats (admissions 3 to 5 October 2026). The 2027 entrance test is not yet notified.

How to Apply for Odisha B.Ed 2027

You apply only online, through the Common Application Form (CAF) on the SAMS teacher education portal. One SAMS login lets you apply for B.Ed., B.H.Ed. and M.Ed. together. The 2027 form is expected to open in March 2027.

Open the SAMS teacher education portal (te.samsodisha.gov.in) and read the information brochure for the year.
Register and create your SAMS user ID and password.
Fill in the CAF: personal details, graduation marks, category and the course or courses you want.
Upload your photo, signature and the documents the brochure asks for.
Pay the CAF fee online and submit the form.
Print the submitted CAF and keep it; you need it at admission.

In 2026 an editing window was open for one day, 7 April 2026, after the last date. You can change most details with an OTP, but the social category can be changed only once because it changes the fee.

Who can apply for Odisha B.Ed 2027?

You need a degree with the minimum marks below; there is no age limit for any of the three courses. These are the 2026-27 rules on the SAMS portal, and the 2027 brochure will confirm them.

B.Ed.: a bachelor’s or master’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC, ST, SEBC and PwD). B.E. or B.Tech graduates need 55% (50% for reserved categories).
B.H.Ed.: a bachelor’s or master’s degree with 50% marks and Hindi as an elective, pass or honours subject (45% for SC, ST, SEBC and PwD).
M.Ed.: B.Ed., B.H.Ed., B.A.-B.Ed., B.Sc.-B.Ed. or D.El.Ed. with 50% marks (45% for SC, ST, SEBC and PwD).
Final-year students can apply, but must upload their final marks before choice locking.

Seats are reserved as SC 16.25%, ST 22.5% and SEBC 11.25%, with 5% for PwD candidates (40% or more disability) and 1% for children or spouses of ex-servicemen. B.H.Ed. is offered only at the Government Hindi Teachers’ Training Institute, Cuttack (50 seats).

What is the Odisha B.Ed 2027 exam pattern?

Each test has 100 multiple-choice questions for 100 marks in 2 hours, answered on an OMR sheet. A wrong answer costs 0.25 mark and an unanswered question scores zero.

Is the Odisha B.Ed entrance conducted by SCERT Odisha?

No. The B.Ed., B.H.Ed. and M.Ed. test is set by the State Selection Board (SSB), Odisha, and admission runs on SAMS. SCERT Odisha runs the separate Odisha D.El.Ed (CT) entrance for elementary teacher training.

How many students apply for the Odisha B.Ed entrance?

For 2026-27 the SAMS portal recorded 1,13,540 applications: 1,09,873 for B.Ed., 1,879 for B.H.Ed. and 1,788 for M.Ed., against 2,825 seats.

Can I apply for B.Ed. and M.Ed. in the same year?

Yes, one SAMS login covers all three courses. If you are selected for both B.Ed. and B.H.Ed., you take admission in one and the other seat is treated as vacant.

Is the Odisha B.Ed test online or offline?

Offline. You mark answers on an OMR sheet with a black ballpoint pen. The B.Ed. test is held at district headquarters across Odisha.

What fee is paid at admission?

The admission fee is paid online on SAMS after you choose Freeze or Slide. If you cancel admission before the closure date, the fee is refunded minus a Rs 500 processing fee.
