BMS / BMM Admit Card 2018

It is compulsory to bring attested Admit Card to the Examination Hall. Admit Card for the St. Xavier’s College BMS / BMM Entrance Test 2018 has been released. Candidates can download the Admit Card from th official website i.e., xaviers.edu or the direct link provided below. If the Admit Card will not be received by the candidate can approach the College Office or the HELP DESK on the day of the Entrance Test and upon satisfaction of having complied with all requirements, can obtain an Admit Card on the spot (to avail of this facility please ensure you carry one passport size photograph).

BMS / BMM Application Form 2018

Candidates can apply online by logging on to the Homepage of St. Xavier’s College – Autonomous, Mumbai website: www.xaviers.edu. The site has been designed in a user-friendly way to help candidates apply online. The online application portal is open as per schedule mention above. The candidates are advised must ensure their eligibility and other conditions before going online application.

Application Fee

  • ST /SC candidates: Rs. 1000/-
  • For other candidates: Rs. 3000/-

Candidates are required to make an online payment through Credit / Debit Cards. It is an expected fee according to the last year brochure.

Instruction for Applying Online Application

  • Log on to www.xaviers.edu.
  • Follow the instructions given on the website carefully for filling the online application form.
  • Once a payment has been received the candidate will receive a confirmation email. Subsequently, the candidate will be able to download and print an Admit Card for the Entrance Test.
  • The Candidate will need to affix a recent passport size photograph on the printed Admit Card and get it attested by their School / College Principal or a Gazetted Officer and carry it to the Examination Hall.
  • Any application received after the last date will not be accepted.
  • No acknowledgement card will be sent.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must make sure that they satisfy all the eligibility conditions given below for appearing for the BMM/BMS 2018 Entrance Test:

  • Candidates belonging to the General Category (GC) whose date of birth falls on or after 1 st June 1995 are eligible to appear for the Entrance Test BMM/BMS 2018.
  • Candidates belonging to the Christian religious community and SC/ST candidates who are born on or after 1 st June 1993 are eligible to appear for the Entrance Test BMM/BMS 2018.
  • The date of birth as recorded in the School Leaving Certificate, First Board / Pre-University Certificate / Birth Certificate issued by a Competent Authority will be accepted
  • For Christian minority candidates, the Baptism Certificate will be a necessary document.
  • A candidate must have passed a Qualifying Examination (QE) or should be appearing for the same in 2018 Those who will be appearing in the QE later than June 30th, 2018 are not eligible to apply for BMM/BMS 2018 Entrance Test.

The Qualifying Examinations (QEs) are listed below:

  • The final Examination of the 10 + 2 system conducted by any recognised Central / State Board, including the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Mumbai, Pune, etc., Central Board of Secondary Education, (C.B.S.E.) New Delhi, Council for the Indian School Certification Examination, (I.S.C.) New Delhi.
  • Intermediate or 2-Year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognised Board / University.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of 5 subjects.

Note : In case the candidate has passed the qualifying Examination from a Board or Pre-University other than the Maharashtra State Board then the candidate will be required to apply for a Provisional Eligibility Certificate issued by the University of Mumbai through the College at the time of admission. The duly filled-in application form available at the College Office should be submitted with an attested copy of the Class XII mark sheet along with the prescribed fees to the college office when admission is offered.

Admissions Procedure for the BMM / BMS Courses

Admissions are based on Merit lists which are time bound.

If a candidate in the first Merit list fails to complete the admission process within the stipulated date and time as mentioned on the notifications, their candidature stands lapsed. The candidates in the Second and Subsequent merit lists will be offered admission.Candidates who accept the offer of admission shall pay the necessary fees. Fees once paid will not be refunded.

Stage 1 will be a written test of 100 marks (Objective Test on the OMR Sheet). A Call List for the Interview Round will be made by giving a 60% weightage to the test and 40% weightage to the qualifying XII examination.

Stage 2 will be an interview cum written test (100 marks).

A Final Merit list will be made by giving a 70% weightage to the score obtained in Stage 2 and a 30% weightage to the score obtained in Stage 1

  • Carry a BLACK ball point pen.
  • Use of only a SIMPLE Calculator is allowed. Programmable Calculators are not allowed at all.
  • Electronic devices like mobile phones, smart watches, iPods, iPads, etc. and materials like log tables, books, notebooks, loose papers, etc. are not permitted to be brought into the spaces where the Entrance Test will be held.
  • There is NO NEGATIVE marking.
  • Carry your downloaded printed Admit Card.
  • Carry the necessary documents.

BMS / BMM  Entrance Exam

The Test Duration: 1 hour 45 minutes.

Nature of the Content of the Entrance Test ( The test is meant to evaluate the aptitude for the two Courses respectively):

  • For the BMM it will consist of questions on General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Data Interpretation, Economics, English Language & Comprehension Skills, Logical Reasoning and Critical Analysis & Creative Thinking.
  • For the BMS it will consist of General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Data Interpretation, Mathematics, English Language & Comprehension Skills, Logical & Visual Reasoning, Critical Analysis.
  • The Question Paper for both the tests will be in English.
  • Instructions for Stage I of the Entrance Test:
    • Stage I will be for 100 marks based on Multiple Choice Questions
    • It will be answered on an OMR Sheet
    • Not more than one option in the OMR sheet can be marked.

Submission of documents on the day of the Entrance Test

Candidates appearing for the Entrance Test are required to submit the following document/s as given below along with their ADMIT CARD on the day of the Entrance Test. (Please do NOT post or courier the Marksheets and other relevant Documents to the College. No original documents are required to be submitted at this stage):

General Category

  • One attested copy of the Class XII Marksheet

Christian Minority:

  • One attested copy of the Class XII Marksheet; and
  • One attested copy of the Baptism Certificate

Reserved Category :

  • One attested copy of the Class XII Marksheet; and
  • One attested copy of the Caste Certificate

Special Category (**) :

  • One attested copy of the Class XII Marksheet; and
  • One copy of the Documentary Proof supporting the category ** includes
  • Children of Transferred Central/State Government Employees Officers.
  • Children of Defence / Ex-Servicemen.
  • Distinguished Sportspersons
  • Widows / Divorcee Girl Students,
  • Wards of Freedom Fighters.

Candidates should note that they are not allowed to apply in more than one of the above Categories.

BMS / BMM Result & Interview 2018

The Exam for BMM & BMS will be held on 01 & 02 Jun 2018 and the results of the Entrance Test will be announced through the College website. Candidate will able to check the result on the official website.

Minimum Percentage of marks in Qualifying Test (QE)

Category-wise Final Merit list will be made by giving a 60% weightage to the score obtained in the written test and a 40% weightage to the score obtained in the qualifying Class XII Examinations for all categories. Candidates can check information brochure for more details.
