JEE Main examination has key components from 3 subjects – Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.

JEE syllabus is exhaustive and without proper time-table one just cannot manage to be ahead of time in preparing for the chapters across the 3 subjects.

In the 3 subjects, it is best to start with the competition of syllabus for the subject Chemistry. Previous year toppers who have shared their views on managing syllabus put due stress on the fact that chemistry was the subject that was the most time-consuming due to it’s vast syllabus.

The syllabus for Physics and Mathematics spreads across 20 and 16 topics, which is comparatively lesser to Chemistry – which has around 28 topics to be studied.

The complete list of syllabus across the 3 subjects can be found here – Syllabus of JEE Main.

Time Table – topper of JEE MAIN explain how to efficiently manage time to prepare for JEE

A daily time table for IIT JEE aspirants is a must. You may have heard of the saying “routine sets you free”. This is applicable for all students. While many of you may be looking for a readymade timetable for JEE studies, we recommend you draft your own based on overall daily activities. For instance a lot depends on school timings, how far school and coaching are from home, whether student prefers to study early morning or late night.

Some really useful pointers are provided here for JEE Main preparation time table which will help in creating ideal time table for JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Keep in mind that more than making a preparation time table, it is important to follow it!

In daily study schedule for JEE preparation divide how many hours you should study for JEE in three to four slots rather than one long slot.

Previous years toppers of JEE give some key guidelines about cracking JEE Main – with due emphasis on time table and strategy. Here are key pointers from his tips for time table for JEE Main.

  • Start preparing a time table to study from class 10th onwards, do not waste time.
  • Self-studying is most crucial to attain good marks, Sankalp did 6 hours of self-study and 3 hours in coaching.
  • Systemically studying is important, develop an yearly/monthly plan of chapters you need to cover and go about doing it in a set manner.
  • Take break between studying, do what you like – play games, keep yourself fit and energetic.
  • On the day of examination, keep following strategy. Start with the subject that you think is the most time consuming and go about doing it with calm.
  • Be focused on your goal and take help from your seniors to clarify doubts.

Books for JEE Main Preparation

Recommended books for JEE Main and JEE Advanced preparation provide a handy guide to students for textbooks to study from. This includes books recommended by toppers and education experts. You can purchase books in the list of best books for IIT JEE preparation online or from market. Along with them, take note of all that is taught in classes 11th and 12th in school. All toppers emphasize on self studies. Especially in last few days it is vital to have self made notes to study from. So, while referring to best books for JEE preparation , keep making notes.

It is quintessential to choose the correct book to study the key chapters with utmost precision and no confusion. One of the key reasons to get confused is technical jargon and use of language by authors that is not simplistic.

We recommend going ahead with buying NCERT books, where key materials are explained in detail and by imminent scholars of their respective fields. The language is simple and does not cloud your understanding.

Upon studying through NCERT books (which probably be your school prescribed books as well, during 11th and 12th), you can go ahead with an advanced book but put in due consideration as to which one is the best.
