JEE Main 2027 is the national engineering entrance test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch and B.Planning seats at NITs, IIITs and other institutes, and it decides who can sit JEE Advanced. Session 1 is on 20 to 24 and 28 January 2027, and registration is open till 22 November 2026. Session 2 is tentatively on 2 to 7 April 2027.

How to Apply for JEE Main 2027
You apply for JEE Main 2027 online only, on jeemain.nta.nic.in. The Session 1 form is open from 24 October to 22 November 2026 (11:50 PM), and you can still apply with a Rs 500 late fee from 23 to 26 November. The Session 2 form is due from 5 January to 3 February 2027. One application number covers both sessions.
Apply Online for JEE Main 2027
Applications for JEE Main 2027 are open: 24 October to 22 November 2026. Session 1 registration is open till 22 November 2026 (11:50 PM); late fee of Rs 500 from 23 to 26 November.
- Open jeemain.nta.nic.in and click the Session 1 registration link once it is live.
- Register with your basic details, create a password and security question, and note the application number.
- Log in and fill the form: personal details, paper, question paper language, up to four exam cities and your Class 10 and 12 details.
- Capture a live photo through your webcam or phone, then upload your photo (JPG, 10 to 200 KB), signature (JPG, 10 to 100 KB) and Class 10 certificate (PDF, 50 to 300 KB).
- Pay the fee online by net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI.
- Download the confirmation page. To also take Session 2, log in with the same application number when the Session 2 window opens and pay that fee.
The fee is charged per session. The table shows the fee from the latest (2026) bulletin for exam centres in India and abroad; NTA will confirm the 2027 fee in the new bulletin. Bank charges and GST are extra.

Who can apply for JEE Main 2027?
Anyone who has passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam, or is appearing in it, can take JEE Main, and there is no age limit. For JEE Main 2027, the information bulletin allows candidates who passed Class 12 in 2025 or 2026, or are appearing in 2027.
Marks and subject conditions apply at admission, not for sitting the exam. These rules are from the latest (2026) JEE Main bulletin:

What is the JEE Main 2027 exam pattern?
Under the latest official pattern (2026 bulletin), JEE Main has three papers of 3 hours each, and every wrong answer costs 1 mark, including numerical questions.
