JEE Main Cutoff 2021
However, it is important to know that there are 2 types of JEE Main cutoff 2021.
- The first is minimum marks to be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced.
- The second is the minimum rank needed to get admission in the NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, etc also known as the opening and closing ranks.
JEE Main 2021 cutoff to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2021 is made available via the scorecard of JEE Main 2021 after Jan and Apr attempts. On the other hand, the minimum ranks for admission in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, etc are revealed when JoSAA counselling starts. For more details, candidates can check this page below.
JEE Main Cutoff 2021 shall be available with the result of JEE Main 2021 after the second attempt.
JEE Main Cutoff 2021 for JEE Advanced 2021
There is no cutoff for qualifying JEE Main. All candidates who appear for the exam get a rank based on their percentile scores. However, as per the decision of the IITs, a minimum percentile score is decided for each category. Based on that, top 2.5 lakh candidates are allowed to appear for JEE Advanced for admission in the IITs in engineering and technology courses.

Factors Affecting JEE Main Cutoff 2021
There are various factors which affect the JEE Main Cutoff 2021. These are as follows:
- The number of candidates appearing in the JEE Main entrance exam
- Total applications received for the programme to which candidate has sought admission
- Total number of available seats
- The difficulty level of the entrance exam
- The category under which a candidate wishes to sough admission for
JEE Main 2021 Opening and Closing Ranks
This is available in the form of ranks and not marks. The candidates who do not qualify for the JEE Advanced cut off or are not interested in admission to the IITs must participate in JoSAA counselling. Each of the participating NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, etc, announces their opening and closing ranks for admission after each JosAA counselling round.
Opening rank means the rank from which a particular colleges start to take admission.
Closing rank means the last rank up to which candidates are called for admission by the college.
After a candidate registers for JoSAA, the opening and closing ranks is decided by the participating colleges. The decision of the opening and closing ranks is based upon the below given factors:
- The college and course opted by the candidates
- The number of seats available in the college and course
- Total number of students applying for the college and course

JEE Main 2021 Result
In the JEE Main 2021 result that is available in the form of a scorecard, candidates can check their percentile score / NTA score in each of the sections and overall. However, the cutoff for JEE Advanced and all India ranks (AIR) is available in the JEE Main 2021 scorecard that is available after the April exam. The scorecard of JEE Main 2021 Jan and Apr attempt is released under the login of the candidates on jeemain.nta.nic.in. The scorecard must be downloaded and saved as it is needed at the time of admission.
