JEE Main Answer Key 2027: Release Date, Challenge, Response Sheet

The JEE Main 2027 answer key will be released by NTA on jeemain.nta.nic.in after each session, together with your question paper and recorded responses. For Session 1, tentatively scheduled for 22 to 30 January 2027, the provisional key is expected in early February 2027. You can challenge any answer for Rs 200 per question before NTA publishes the final key.

When the JEE Main 2027 answer key is expected, how to check and challenge it, and how to work out your marks.

How to Check the JEE Main 2027 Answer Key

1. Go to jeemain.nta.nic.in and open the notice on display of provisional answer keys.
2. Click the answer key challenge link and log in with your application number and password (or date of birth).
3. Open your question paper with recorded responses to see what you marked for each question.
4. Compare each response with the provisional key, using the question and option IDs.
5. Save or print the response sheet; NTA displays it only for 2 to 3 days.

NTA first publishes a provisional key, then a final key after reviewing challenges. Results are calculated only from the final key.

How to Challenge the JEE Main 2027 Answer Key

You can challenge a provisional answer online through the challenge link by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs 200 per question. The window lasts only 2 to 3 days; for 2026 Session 1 it ran from 4 to 6 February 2026.

• Select the question, choose the option you think is correct and upload your justification.
• Pay by debit card, credit card or net banking before the deadline; unpaid challenges are ignored.
• Subject experts review all challenges. NTA does not reply to individual candidates.
• If a challenge is accepted, the key is corrected for everyone and reflected in the final key.

How to Calculate Your JEE Main Score from the Answer Key

Add +4 for every correct answer and subtract 1 for every wrong answer in both MCQs and numerical questions; unanswered questions get 0.

• Paper 1: 25 questions per subject, 100 marks each, 300 in total
• Paper 2A and 2B: 400 marks in total
• A dropped question gives +4 to everyone in that shift
• If more than one option is found correct, +4 goes to those who marked any correct option

Your raw score is then converted to an NTA score (percentile) shift by shift, so the same raw marks can give different percentiles in different shifts. The JEE Main result shows this percentile.
