What does the JEE Main scorecard contain?

The scorecard contains the candidate’s name, application number, parents’ names, date of birth, category, NTA score (percentile) for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and total, All India Rank (overall and category-wise), qualifying status for JEE Advanced 2026, and the cut-off score for JEE Advanced eligibility (category-wise). How is the JEE Main final All India Rank determined?

NTA calculates the NTA score (percentile) for each subject and total based on normalisation across shifts to account for difficulty variations. For candidates who appeared in both Session 1 and Session 2, the best of the two NTA scores is taken to compute the final AIR. NTA prepares the overall merit list and category-wise merit lists. JEE Main score is also accepted by several private and deemed universities for B.E / B.Tech admission. The scorecard is valid for the current admission year.

What happens after the JEE Main Result?

After the result, JoSAA conducts joint counselling for seat allotment at NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and IITs (for JEE Advanced qualifiers) at josaa.nic.in. Candidates register, fill choices of institutes and programmes, lock preferences, and accept allotted seats in multiple rounds based on JEE Main / JEE Advanced rank, choice filling, category, and seat matrix. State-quota seats follow separate state counselling. Candidates pay the seat acceptance fee, complete document verification, and report to the allotted institute.
