How to Apply for Uttarakhand Post Basic B.Sc, M.Sc Nursing 2027
You apply online only, through the nursing/paramedical entrance link on hnbumu.ac.in, once the 2027 brochure is out (expected in May 2027). In 2026 the form was filled on the emsecure.in portal used for all HNBUMU nursing and paramedical entrance exams, and the fee was charged per course.

Applications for Uttarakhand Post Basic B.Sc, M.Sc Nursing 2027 are expected in May 2027.
- Open hnbumu.ac.in and click the nursing/paramedical entrance 2027 application link.
- Register with your mobile number and email ID, and keep the mobile number and password safe. You need them for the admit card, result and counselling.
- Choose your course: Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, M.Sc Nursing or NPCC. Each course needs a separate fee.
- Fill in your personal, category, domicile and qualification details, and upload a self-attested copy of a valid photo ID (Aadhaar, voter ID, PAN, driving licence, or a photo ID from your last institution’s principal or a gazetted officer).
- Pick at least three exam centres in order of preference. You cannot change them later.
- Upload your photo and signature, pay the fee online and print the completed form. Quote your application number in all letters to HNBUMU.

The fee is not refunded and is not carried over to a later year. To correct your form you fill a fresh one during the registration window for Rs 200 each time, and the earlier form is cancelled. Category or sub-category cannot be changed after you apply.
Who can apply for Uttarakhand Post Basic B.Sc, M.Sc Nursing 2027?
You must be an Indian citizen, medically fit, within the age limits set by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), and registered with a State Nursing Council for your nursing qualification. These are the 2026 rules; the 2027 brochure will confirm them.
- Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: High School, 10+2 (or 10+1 passed in or before 1987) and the GNM diploma from recognised institutions.
- M.Sc Nursing and NPCC: B.Sc Nursing, B.Sc (Hons) Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with at least 55% aggregate from an INC or State Nursing Council recognised institution, plus one year of work experience.
- SC and ST candidates get a 5% relaxation in the INC minimum percentage.
- Uttarakhand domicile candidates can apply wherever they studied. Non-domicile candidates who studied in Uttarakhand can sit the exam but cannot claim reserved seats.
- In-service candidates in government or non-government jobs must be under 50 years of age.
- Male nurses who qualified before the integrated nursing course began must show an INC-approved course of midwifery-equal length, such as OT Techniques, Psychiatric or Community Health Nursing, for Post Basic.
- You can apply while appearing in the qualifying exam, but you must show the pass certificate at counselling.

- The exam is offline: you mark answers on an OMR sheet with a black ballpoint pen that the university provides.
- Each question has four options with one correct answer. A wrong, blank or multiple-marked answer gets zero.
- OMR sheets are evaluated by computer, and you may take the question paper home after the exam.
How many seats and exam centres are there?
HNBUMU publishes the full seat matrix of government and private colleges at counselling. The brochure names one fixed figure: State College of Nursing, Dehradun has 30 Post Basic B.Sc Nursing seats, of which 10 are reserved for regular nursing staff of the Uttarakhand Medical Health Department, who need a no-objection certificate.
In 2026 the exam was held in all 13 districts: Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal (Srinagar), New Tehri, Chamoli (Gopeshwar), Haridwar, Nainital (Haldwani), Pithoragarh, Almora, Uttarkashi, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar, Bageshwar and Rudraprayag. You choose at least three when you apply, and HNBUMU allots one of them.
