- Part V – General Awareness – 10 Marks
No. of Marks: 1 mark for correct answer and 0.25 will be deducted for wrong answer.
Syllabus: The general standard of the entrance examination will be that of 11 th and 12 th class under the 10+2 scheme/ pre medical/ intermediate Science or an equivalent examination of the State Education Board/Indian University /CBSE.

Format of Questions: Part A – 50 questions and Part B – 50 questions.
No. of Marks: 1 mark for correct answer and there will be no negative marking.
Syllabus: The Entrance examination will be based on the syllabi of B Sc Nursing prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council. The Question Paper will have two parts; Part A and Part B. Part A will contain questions from General English, General Knowledge, Biological Sciences, Nursing Administration and Management, Research and Statistics. Part B will contain questions from the specialty subjects (10 marks each) from Medical Surgical Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, and Maternal Health Nursing

Admit Cards for both Onilne Admission Test and Written Admission Test are on the provisional basis and do not by any means confirm the eligibility of the candidate for admission to AIN. Selected candidates name will be uploaded in the Institute website (ainguwahati.org) as per the merit list only, those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria based on the correctness of certificates rendered by them. Actual admission into AIN will be done after physical verification of all the original documents at the time of counselling.
The candidates are required to furnish the admit cards at the time of:
- Entry into the Examination hall.
- During the course of the exam for necessary identification by the supervisory staff on duty.
- Appearing for counselling before the Counselling Board.
Appearing for Entrance Examination in the Event of Non-Receipt of Admit Card
In the case, if a candidate does not receive the Admit Card prior to the examination date, she must approach the Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Examination Centre as indicated by her in the Application Form with two passport size photographs similar to the one forwarded with the Application Form. OIC Examination Centre is empowered by AWES to permit the candidate to provisionally appear for the examination. The details of such candidates will be mentioned by the OIC Examination Centre in the forwarding letter containing the answer sheets.
However, evaluation of her answer sheet and admission to the course would be subject to the confirmation of receipt of her application form by the due date at AIN, Guwahati and subject to the confirmation of her eligibility for Written Admission Test.
