| Item | GU-ART pattern |
|---|---|
| Papers | One paper in the subject you apply for |
| Questions | 50 multiple-choice questions |
| Marks | 100 (2 marks per correct answer) |
| Negative marking | Minus 0.5 for each wrong answer; none for unanswered questions |
| Duration | 90 minutes |
| Section I | 15 least difficult questions |
| Section II | 15 difficult questions |
| Section III | 20 most difficult questions |
| Tie-breaker | Section III score, then Section II score |
The common MCA, M.Sc. Artificial Intelligence and M.Sc. Data Science test has fixed sections: Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning (15 questions), Mathematics (10) and Computer Science (25). Common tests are also held for M.Com with the PG Diploma in Banking & Finance, and for M.A. Psychology, M.A. Wellness Counselling and the PG Diploma in Guidance & Counselling. Subject-wise topics are on the GU-ART 2027 syllabus page.
How do the GU-ART admission rounds work?
Round I covers every programme. Goa University holds further rounds only in programmes where seats stay vacant or the merit list runs short. How rank lists and seat allotment work is on the GU-ART 2027 result page.
- Candidates in a later round are ranked after everyone from the earlier round. If Round I ranked 100 candidates, the top scorer of Round II gets rank 101.
- Round I in 2026 was offline at the Goa University campus for its own graduates and online for other-university candidates. Rounds II and III (23 and 24 June, and 23 and 24 July 2026) were online.
- In the final round, candidates who took any GU-ART round apply directly to the school or college, which fills vacant seats in rank order. Nobody who skipped every round gets a seat.
- The last date of admission in 2026-27 was 31 July 2026.
How will you get the GU-ART 2027 admit card?
For Round I offline tests, Goa University emails the admit card to your registered email ID. In 2026 it was sent by 11 March 2026, and the test centre was printed on it. Report 30 minutes before your test time.
Candidates who take the test online get their login credentials and guidelines by email instead, so keep your registered email ID active and check its spam folder.
