How is the GU-ART 2027 syllabus organised?
There is no single GU-ART syllabus. Each subject test has its own syllabus, usually based on the undergraduate course in that discipline, and the same syllabus is used for the M.A./M.Sc. and the B.Ed. in that subject.
The syllabi were approved between November 2025 and January 2026 and say “Effective from AY 2026-27”. Unless Goa University revises them, expect the same syllabi for the 2027-28 tests.

What is in the GU-ART Commerce syllabus?
The Commerce syllabus, used for M.Com, B.Ed. Commerce and the PG Diploma in Banking & Finance test, has six modules.
- Financial Accounting: accounting principles and standards, depreciation, single entry, company final accounts (Schedule III) and investment accounts
- Principles and Practices of Management: planning, organising, direction, communication, control and coordination
- Elements of Cost: cost accounting concepts, overheads, Activity-Based Costing and cost sheets
- Fundamentals of Banking: Indian banking structure, RBI, bank functions and digital payment systems such as UPI, IMPS and NACH
- Public Finance: public goods, market failure, budgets, taxation and public expenditure
- Macroeconomics for Business: national income, unemployment, inflation, fiscal and monetary policy, and the open economy
What is in the GU-ART Mathematics syllabus?
The Mathematics syllabus for M.Sc. and B.Ed. Mathematics runs to 15 modules covering the core of a B.Sc. in Mathematics.
- Sets, functions, relations, induction and systems of linear equations
- Limits, continuity, differentiability, complex numbers and vector algebra
- Analytical 2D geometry, combinatorics, graph theory and number theory
- Linear algebra and matrix algebra, including eigenvalues and the Cayley-Hamilton theorem
- Real analysis: sequences, series, uniform convergence and calculus of one variable
- Ordinary differential equations, Laplace and Z-transforms and theory of equations
- Elementary statistics, probability theory and probability distributions
What is in the GU-ART MCA, AI and Data Science syllabus?
MCA, M.Sc. Artificial Intelligence and M.Sc. Data Science share one test with three fixed sections.

What is the GU-ART 2027 exam pattern and marking?
Every GU-ART subject test follows the same marking scheme; only the MCA, AI and Data Science test has subject-based sections.

What is the Change of Discipline Test syllabus?
If your degree is not in the programme’s discipline, you also take the Change of Discipline Test (CDT): 50 MCQs, 100 marks, 90 minutes, minus 0.5 per wrong answer, and you must score at least 50%. How should you prepare for GU-ART 2027?
- Download your subject’s syllabus PDF and tick off each module; most topics come from your undergraduate course.
- Use the reference books listed at the end of each syllabus PDF.
- Practise speed: 50 questions in 90 minutes leaves under 2 minutes a question.
- Answer only when reasonably sure, since each wrong answer costs half a mark.
- Give extra time to the hardest topics, because Section III decides ties.
