How are reserved seats split in CG NEET counselling?
State quota seats follow a 200-point roster, with vertical reservation for categories and horizontal reservation inside each category.
| Reservation | Share |
|---|---|
| Scheduled Tribe (ST) | 30%, plus 2% for Special ST (PVTG) |
| Scheduled Caste (SC) | 12% |
| OBC (non-creamy layer) | 14% |
| EWS | 10% in government colleges |
| Women (horizontal) | 30% within each category |
| PwD (horizontal) | 5% |
| Wards of freedom fighters and Sainik (horizontal) | 3% each |
Reserved seats still vacant after Round 2 are first moved to the same category without sub-category, then to other categories as the 2012 state reservation Act allows.
How do rounds, upgrades and seat exit work?
Every allotted candidate must appear in person for document scrutiny, and the rules on joining and exit get stricter after Round 1.
- If you are allotted a seat and do not appear for scrutiny, you are out of counselling for the session.
- Joining is compulsory for a government medical college seat. For private medical, government dental and private dental seats, joining is optional, but scrutiny is not.
- Only Round 1 admitted candidates who opted for upgradation can be upgraded in Round 2.
- From Round 2 on, not joining an allotted seat or leaving it after joining forfeits your registration amount.
- Candidates found ineligible at scrutiny cannot register in later rounds.
- A seat is not allotted to you again in the same course and college once you have been allotted it.
What happens after the Round 3 allotment?
Download your allotment letter from the portal and complete scrutiny and admission between 12 October and 5:00 PM on 15 October 2026. Government college allottees report to the allotted college; private college allottees report to the scrutiny centre named in the notice.
Seats that stay vacant after Round 3 may go to a stray vacancy round, which DME will notify separately. To see how far each college went in 2026, check the CG NEET cut off 2026.
