CIPET CAT 2027 (CIPET Admission Test, formerly CIPET JEE) is the national computer based test of the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology for its plastics diploma, post diploma and PG diploma courses. Applications are expected from December 2026 and the test in June 2027. CAT 2026 was held on 7 June 2026.

How to Apply for CIPET CAT 2027
You apply for CIPET CAT 2027 online only, on the CIPET admission portal. The 2027 link is expected to open in December 2026; the steps below follow the 2026 instructions.
Apply Online for CIPET CAT 2027
Applications for CIPET CAT 2027 are expected in December 2026.
- Open the CIPET admission portal and sign up as a New User with your active email ID and mobile number, verifying the mobile number by OTP.
- Note the User ID (your mobile number) and password (your date of birth) shown on screen and sent to your email and mobile.
- Log in, accept the declaration and fill in your personal details and permanent and correspondence addresses.
- In Academic Details, choose the programme you want (DPMT, DPT, PD-PMD with CAD/CAM or PGD-PPT) and enter your qualifying exam details.
- Upload your photograph (20 to 50 KB) and signature (10 to 30 KB) in JPG, JPEG or PNG, plus a North Eastern Region residence proof or disability certificate if it applies.
- Check the preview, pay the fee online by net banking, card, wallet or UPI, and download the application form and payment receipt from your dashboard.

The application fee is adjusted against the admission fee if you join. It is not refunded, and you cannot change your details or programme after you proceed to payment, so check the preview carefully.
Who can apply for CIPET CAT 2027?
You can apply for the diploma courses after Class 10, and for the post diploma and PG diploma after a 3-year diploma or science degree. There is no age limit, and students waiting for their qualifying exam result can also apply.

In 2026-27, DPT was offered at 29 CIPET centres, DPMT at 28, PGD-PPT at 16 and PD-PMD at 7, from Ahmedabad and Amritsar to Chennai, Guwahati and Hyderabad. Some centres, such as CIPET Chennai, also listed 2-year lateral entry to DPMT and DPT for 10+2 or 10th plus 2-year ITI holders.
What is the CIPET CAT 2027 exam pattern?
CIPET CAT is a 1-hour computer based test of 50 objective multiple-choice questions, with no negative marking. The syllabus follows your entry qualification plus general knowledge, and the question mix depends on the programme (2026 brochure):

Questions come from a question bank, so different candidates get different but comparable sets. The brochure gives sample model questions, and a model question paper and practice test are posted on the admission portal.
How are seats allotted after CIPET CAT 2027?
Seats are filled on merit in the CIPET Admission Test, with reservation as per Government of India norms. Selected candidates get a provisional counselling cum admission letter on the portal and must accept it by the date given, or the seat goes to a waitlisted candidate.
