What does the CMC Vellore Nursing 2027 syllabus include?
The Step-1 test for B.Sc Nursing has two parts, and both are part of the syllabus:
- Physics, Chemistry and Biology at Class 11 and 12 (plus-two) level, 60 questions each.
- Aptitude Assessment: 120 questions on general ability, speed and accuracy, with a few questions on current topics.
CMC’s bulletin describes the syllabus as a mixture of the plus-two syllabi of boards recognised by The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. It gives no separate chapter-wise list.
Which Physics, Chemistry and Biology topics should I revise?
Since there is no official chapter list, cover the main Class 11 and 12 units of each subject. The table below is a revision guide, not an official list.

The aptitude assessment checks general ability, speed and accuracy, and it is timed tightly.
- Section I: 60 questions in 50 minutes.
- Section II: 60 questions in 20 minutes, so you have about 20 seconds per question.
- Question types in CMC’s sample set include number series, figure and word analogies, odd one out, quick arithmetic and word coding.

How should I prepare for CMC Vellore Nursing 2027?
- Finish NCERT Class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Biology first; CMC says its questions test understanding, not just memory.
- Practise 60-question subject sets in 40 minutes each to match the 120-minute PCB test.
- Train for the 20-minute aptitude section with short, timed drills on series, analogies, coding and quick arithmetic.
- Use the 0.2-mark credit for blanks: skip a question only when you cannot rule out any option.
- Take the mock test that CMC posts on its website about a month before Step-1.
