ICSI CS exams are the three stages of the Company Secretary course, CSEET, CS Executive and CS Professional, conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. The next sittings are CS Executive and Professional from 21 to 28 December 2026 and CSEET from 1 to 4 February 2027. Clearing all three, plus training, leads to ICSI membership.

When are the next ICSI CS exams?
The next ICSI exams are CS Executive and CS Professional, from 21 to 28 December 2026, followed by CSEET from 1 to 4 February 2027. CSEET is held three times a year, in February, June and October; Executive and Professional are held twice a year, in June and December.

The CSEET October 2026 session was held from 1 to 6 October 2026, and ICSI’s schedule says its result is declared by November 2026. The December 2026 Executive and Professional result is expected in February 2027, going by the June 2026 result of 25 August 2026.
How to Apply for ICSI CS Exams 2026-27
Every CS stage works in two steps on ICSI’s SMASH portal: you first register for the stage (CSEET, Executive or Professional), then enrol for each exam session and pay the exam fee. Right now, CSEET registration for February 2027 is open till 31 October 2026, while enrolment for the December 2026 Executive and Professional exams closed on 10 October 2026.
Apply Online for ICSI CS Exam 2027
Applications for ICSI CS Exam 2027 are open: 1 July to 31 October 2026.
- Open the ICSI SMASH portal and choose the registration for your stage: CSEET for Class 12 students, or direct Executive registration if you are exempt from CSEET.
- Fill in the form, upload your photo, signature and certificates, and pay the registration fee online.
- Before each session, enrol for the exam from your student login: choose the papers or groups, exam centre and medium.
- Executive and Professional students must also finish ICSI’s online Pre-Examination Test before the enrolment deadline.
- Pay the exam fee, save the receipt, and download the e-admit card from the ICSI website before the exam.

CSEET fees carry a 50% concession for SC/ST and PH candidates, and the registration fee is waived for students from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Fees for each stage are explained on its own page.
How to Become a Company Secretary: CSEET, Executive, Professional
You become a Company Secretary by clearing ICSI’s three exam stages in order, then completing the required practical training and applying for ICSI membership. Each stage has its own page with dates, admit card and result details.

- The CS Foundation Programme no longer takes new students. Since CSEET began on 3 February 2020, it is the only entrance route for those who are not exempt.
- A CSEET pass is valid for one year: register for the Executive Programme within that time.
- To write both Executive groups in June 2027, ICSI asks you to register for the Executive Programme by 30 November 2026.
Who can skip CSEET and join CS Executive directly?
Graduates and some professional students can skip CSEET and register straight for the CS Executive Programme. Everyone else needs a CSEET pass first.
- Graduates and postgraduates in any discipline
- CS Foundation pass students
- ICAI Intermediate (CA Inter) pass and ICMAI Final (CMA Final) pass students
- Final-year undergraduate students, on provisional registration
- Students who have passed or are appearing in the 6th semester of a five-year integrated programme
CSEET itself is open only to Indian nationals who have passed or are appearing in Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent exam.
What is the ICSI CS exam pattern?
All three CS stages are written exams on paper at ICSI centres, and every paper carries 100 marks. The papers of each stage are held on separate days, one paper a day.

- There is no negative marking in the CSEET OMR paper (714).
- Since June 2026, CSEET is no longer a remote-proctored online test with a viva voce; it is a pen and paper exam at centres.
- Executive and Professional exams are held at ICSI centres in India and in Dubai.
