How to Apply for CA Intermediate January 2027
You fill the CA Intermediate January 2027 exam form online on the ICAI Self Service Portal (eservices.icai.org) from 3 to 16 November 2026, or till 19 November 2026 with a late fee of Rs 600. There is no offline form.

- Log in to eservices.icai.org with your username ([email protected]) and password. If you never used the portal, create your login there first.
- Check that your Intermediate registration is valid and shows the new course code (NEWINT23 or CONINT23); convert it free on the portal if it does not.
- Make sure you are registered for the group or groups you want to take, and that your latest photo and signature are uploaded.
- Open the January 2027 Intermediate exam form and choose the group (Group I, Group II or both), exam city and medium (English or Hindi). Check the exemptions shown.
- Pay the fee online by card, net banking or UPI.
- Download the PDF exam form generated after payment and keep it till the admit card is out.

If you pick the wrong centre, group or medium, you can fix it once, free of cost, in the correction window from 20 to 22 November 2026. ICAI gives no second correction window.
Who can appear for CA Intermediate January 2027?
You can appear if you are registered for the CA Intermediate course, your registration is valid, and you have completed 8 months of study as on 1 January 2027, the first day of the exam month.
- Study period: ICAI counts 8 months up to the first day of the exam month. For September 2026 the cut-off was registration on or before 1 January 2026; by the same rule, January 2027 needs registration on or before 1 May 2026. ICAI’s January 2027 requirements note will confirm it.
- Routes in: pass CA Foundation, or use direct entry as a commerce graduate with 55% marks, another graduate with 60%, or after passing the ICMAI or ICSI Intermediate exam.
- Registration is valid for five years from registration or conversion, with a one-time revalidation for five more years.
- Students of the old IPCC or Intermediate (IPC) courses must convert to the new course before applying; ICAI’s unit scheme decides which papers they take.
What is the CA Intermediate exam pattern?
CA Intermediate has six papers of 100 marks each, three in each group. Every paper runs from 2 PM to 5 PM, with 15 minutes of reading time from 1:45 PM.

- Each paper has 30 marks of compulsory MCQs (1 or 2 marks each, four options) and 70 marks of descriptive questions.
- No negative marking for wrong MCQ answers.
- Papers 3 and 6 are answered in two separate answer books, one for each section, but count as one paper for passing.
- Medium: English or Hindi, chosen for the whole group in the exam form; no paper-wise choice.
- Calculator: battery-operated, up to 6 functions, 12 digits and two memories. Scientific calculators are not allowed.
