Goa Polytechnic Admission 2027 is the merit-based admission to AICTE approved diploma courses in Goa’s polytechnics for the 2027-28 session, run by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa. There is no entrance exam: ranks come from SSC or HSSC marks. Forms are expected around April to May 2027, with admission rounds at DTE, Porvorim from June 2027.

Is there an entrance exam for Goa Polytechnic admission 2027?
No. DTE Goa fills diploma seats on merit, without any entrance test. You submit an application form, DTE checks it and publishes an eligibility list, and then a merit list for each category is drawn up from your qualifying marks.
For engineering and technology courses the merit is your aggregate in academic subjects at SSC (Class 10). Pharmacy, Hotel Management, Modern Office Management and the direct second year seats use HSSC (Class 12) or ITI marks. Seats are then chosen in person, in order of merit, at the admission rounds held at DTE, Porvorim.

DTE Goa has not announced the 2027-28 schedule yet. In 2026 the merit list came on 27 May and the first round ran from 1 to 5 June, so the 2027 merit list is expected in May 2027 and the first round in June 2027.

How to Apply for Goa Polytechnic Admission 2027
You apply offline. DTE Goa publishes the prospectus with the application forms on its website: Form F for first year diploma and Form S for direct second year (HSSC Science, HSSC Vocational and ITI candidates). The form is printed, filled and submitted in person at the centre DTE notifies, on the notified dates.
Apply Online for Goa Polytechnic 2027
Applications for Goa Polytechnic 2027 are expected in April 2027.
- Download the diploma prospectus and the correct form from the DTE admission page: Form F (first year) or Form S (direct second year).
- Fill in every category you are eligible for. You cannot change your category after the last date.
- Attach self-attested copies of your mark sheets, leaving certificate, residence certificate and any caste, income or other category certificates, and paste a recent passport photo on the form and on the acknowledgement card.
- Submit the form in person at the notified centre with the Rs 2,100 application fee. Applicants outside Goa who post the form pay by demand draft in favour of ‘Director of Technical Education’, payable at Panaji.
- Collect the Acknowledgement cum Admission Card. You must bring it, with your original documents, to the admission round.
- Check the eligibility list on the DTE website and report any wrong marks or category at DTE, Porvorim before the deadline.
If you submit more than one form, write the registration number of the earlier form on the later one. Only the last form you submit is considered. The 2026-27 fees at Government and aided polytechnics are shown below; they are paid on the day you take a seat.

Goa residents of 10 years or more get a tuition fee concession in Government and aided institutes: 50% for SC, ST and OBC students and for General, PwD, FF and ESM students with parents’ income below Rs 3 lakh a year, and 30% for FF, PwD and ESM seats. Hostel fees are extra. Hotel Management fees at the two self-financing institutes are notified separately.
Who can apply for Goa Polytechnic admission 2027?
You can apply if you are an Indian national and meet the marks rule for your course. There is no age limit. OCI and PIO card holders can apply only for the NRI seats, which are also open to NRIs.

The General category seats need 10 years of continuous residence in Goa (5 years if a parent or grandparent was born in Goa) and the qualifying exam passed from a school in Goa. Applicants who studied in Goa but do not meet the residence rule apply as Local Applicants (LA), and students from other states as Other State (OGA) applicants; both groups get only the seats left vacant.
How is the Goa Polytechnic merit list prepared?
DTE prepares separate merit lists for each category, in two groups: first year (SSC+ and HSSC+ courses) and direct second year (HSSC Science, Vocational and ITI). You appear in every category you qualify for.
- Engineering and technology: SSC aggregate in academic subjects. Ties go to higher Mathematics marks, then Science, then English, then the earlier date of birth.
- Hotel Management and Modern Office Management: HSSC aggregate, then HSSC English, then SSC aggregate.
- D.Pharm: HSSC total in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics, then marks in Mathematics or Biology.
- Up to 15 extra marks are added for national or international sports, NCC and bravery awards, but they cannot be used to become eligible.
The provisional lists show your eligibility (EL or NE), category and any pending documents. Check your entry against your registration number and report errors in writing at DTE, Porvorim before the notified deadline. Which diploma courses and polytechnics are in the Goa admission?
The 2026-27 prospectus lists 1,329 first year seats across Government, aided and unaided institutes, plus up to 5% supernumerary seats under the AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver scheme and 109 direct second year seats.

How are Goa Polytechnic seats reserved?
Seats are reserved for Goa’s own SC, ST and OBC candidates, with smaller quotas for special groups. SC, ST or OBC certificates from outside Goa, and migrant or creamy-layer status, do not qualify for these seats.

What happens at the Goa Polytechnic admission rounds?
You choose your seat in person at DTE, Porvorim. The merit list notice gives each course, category and merit-number slot a date and reporting time, and you must arrive half an hour early.
- Bring your Acknowledgement cum Admission Card, all original documents and the fees. Bring the income or income-and-assets certificate if you want a TFW or EWS seat.
- When your merit number is called, pick a course and institute from the seats still available. A parent or guardian may come with you.
- Pay the fees the same day and collect the Admission Card. If you are absent or refuse the seat, your turn passes to the next candidate.
- Report to the allotted institute within three working days, or the admission can be cancelled.
- If you want a better seat, attend the next round. You stay eligible for every round, and moving to another course is not treated as a cancellation.
After the second or additional rounds, the institutes can fill vacant seats from the same merit list with DTE’s approval. Late and spot applicants were called on the last day of the 2026 first round for the seats still vacant.
