ICAR Answer Key 2027 (AIEEA PG, AICE PhD): Date, Challenge, Score

NTA will release the ICAR answer key 2027 for AIEEA (PG) and AICE-JRF/SRF (PhD) on exams.nta.nic.in/icar, with the question papers and your recorded responses. It is expected in August 2027, after the July exam. You can challenge an answer for a non-refundable Rs 200 per question, and the final key decides your result.

How to Download the ICAR Answer Key 2027

NTA releases one provisional key notice for both exams. In 2026 the keys came on 16 August, about six weeks after the 4 July exam, and the final keys on 29 August 2026 with the result.

1. Go to exams.nta.nic.in/icar.
2. Click the link for the answer key challenge.
3. Log in with your application number and password and enter the captcha.
4. Click View Question Paper to see your recorded responses.
5. Open the answer key and match each question ID with your response.

Question IDs in the key are not in serial order, so match them by ID with the question paper.

How can you challenge the ICAR answer key?

You can challenge any answer in the provisional key online during the window, which ran for three days in 2026 (16 to 18 August, up to 11:59 PM).

• Fee: Rs 200 per question, non-refundable, paid by debit card, credit card or net banking.
• A panel of subject experts checks every challenge. If one is accepted, the key is revised for all candidates.
• NTA does not inform you individually whether your challenge was accepted.
• No challenge is accepted after the deadline.

How to Calculate Your ICAR Score

Both papers use the same marking: 4 marks for a correct answer, minus 1 for a wrong one and 0 for a question you leave. The maximum is 480.

Your marks decide your rank in your subject group or subject; the ICAR result page shows the latest cut-off marks.
