Has the JIPMAT 2027 syllabus been released?
No. NTA will confirm the JIPMAT 2027 syllabus in the information bulletin, expected around April 2027. The latest bulletin (2026) describes each section in a line or two rather than a topic list, so the topics below are drawn from past JIPMAT papers.
What topics come in JIPMAT Quantitative Aptitude?
The bulletin says this section tests the understanding and application of concepts up to Class 10 mathematics.
- Number system: HCF and LCM, divisibility, indices and surds.
- Arithmetic: percentages, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, ratio and proportion, averages, mixtures.
- Time, speed and distance; time and work; pipes and cisterns.
- Algebra: linear and quadratic equations, inequalities, polynomials and progressions.
- Geometry and mensuration: lines, angles, triangles, circles, quadrilaterals, areas and volumes.
- Basics of permutations, combinations and probability.
What topics come in JIPMAT Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning?
Data interpretation questions test how well you read a given data set; logical reasoning questions test your reasoning ability.
- Data interpretation: tables, bar graphs, line graphs, pie charts and caselets.
- Data sufficiency.
- Seating arrangement (linear and circular) and puzzles.
- Blood relations, direction sense, order and ranking.
- Coding-decoding, number and letter series.
- Syllogisms, statements and conclusions, and critical reasoning.
What topics come in JIPMAT Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension?
Verbal ability tests your basic understanding of English; reading comprehension tests whether you can understand, interpret and draw inferences from a passage.
- Reading comprehension passages.
- Grammar: tenses, articles, prepositions, subject-verb agreement.
- Vocabulary: synonyms, antonyms, one-word substitution, idioms and phrases.
- Sentence correction and error spotting.
- Para jumbles, sentence completion and para summary.
What is the JIPMAT 2027 exam pattern and marking scheme?
JIPMAT has 100 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 150 minutes in computer-based mode, in English only. The table shows the latest official pattern (2026 bulletin).

A correct answer gets 4 marks and a wrong answer loses 1 mark; unanswered questions get no marks. If the answer key changes after challenges, only candidates who marked the revised correct option get the marks.
How should you prepare for the JIPMAT 2027 syllabus?
- Revise Class 9 and 10 maths thoroughly, since Quantitative Aptitude is set at that level.
- Practise data interpretation sets and reasoning puzzles against the clock; they take the most time.
- Read English newspapers and editorials daily to build reading speed for comprehension passages.
- Solve the JIPMAT previous year question papers as timed 150-minute tests.
- Answer only when you are fairly sure, because each wrong answer costs 1 mark.
