J&K Diploma Polytechnic Admission 2027 is the merit-based admission to three-year diploma courses in government and private polytechnics of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, run by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Technical Education (JKBOTE). There is no entrance test. The 2027 notification is expected around March to April 2027.

Is there an entrance test for J&K Diploma Polytechnic 2027?
No. The Polytechnic Entrance Test (PET) that J&K BOPEE used to hold was dropped from 2021, and JKBOTE now admits students on the marks of their qualifying exam. In 2026 the merit list was made purely on Class 10 percentage, and on Class 12 Medical (PCB) marks for Diploma in Medical Lab Technology.
So you do not need to prepare for a written test. Your Class 10 board marks decide your rank. The old PET papers are kept only as an archive on the J&K Diploma Polytechnic previous year papers page.

JKBOTE has not announced the 2027 schedule yet. The notice came on 16 April in 2025 and on 30 March in 2026, so the 2027 notification is expected around March to April 2027.

How to Apply for J&K Diploma Polytechnic Admission 2027
You apply online only, on the JKBOTE admission portal, after the 2027 notification is out. In 2026 the window ran from 1 April and was extended several times up to 14 June 2026, so read every extension notice before you decide you have missed it.
Apply Online for J&K Polytechnic 2027
Applications for J&K Polytechnic 2027 are expected in April 2027.
- Read the 2027 admission notification on the JKBOTE notices page when it is released.
- Open the JKBOTE admission portal and start a new application.
- Fill in your personal details, domicile, category and Class 10 marks (Class 12 marks if you apply for Medical Lab Technology).
- Choose the diploma courses and polytechnics you prefer, in order. Seats are allotted by merit, category and these preferences.
- Pay the application fee online and submit the form.
- Save or print the submitted form and keep checking the notices page for the merit list.

Who can apply for J&K Diploma Polytechnic 2027?
You can apply if you hold a J&K or Ladakh domicile certificate and have passed Class 10 with at least 35% aggregate. These are the rules of the 2026 notification:
- Domicile: you must be a domicile certificate holder of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir or the UT of Ladakh.
- Engineering and non-engineering diplomas: Class 10 pass from a recognised board.
- Diploma in Medical Lab Technology: Class 12 (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- Minimum marks: not less than 35% aggregate in the qualifying exam.
- Students appearing in the qualifying exam may also apply.
- If your board gives CGPA, it is converted to percentage at a factor of 9.5.
How is the J&K Polytechnic 2027 merit list prepared?
The merit list ranks applicants only by the percentage of marks in the qualifying exam: Class 10 for most diplomas and Class 12 Medical for MLT. In 2026 JKBOTE first published a provisional merit list on 15 June, then round-wise provisional selection lists (18 June and 2 July 2026) that allotted a college and branch to each selected candidate by merit, reservation category and preference.
- Check your name, percentage and category in the provisional merit list and report any error by the date in the notice.
- Look for your name in each selection list round; it shows the polytechnic and branch allotted to you.
- Report to the allotted polytechnic with your documents by the date in the selection list notice.

What is the expected J&K Diploma Polytechnic 2027 cut off?
There is no official cut-off list, so the table shows the lowest and highest Class 10 percentage allotted under Open Merit (OM) in 2026 Round 1, worked out from the official JKBOTE selection list of 18 June 2026 for selected colleges.

Which diploma courses can you join through J&K Polytechnic 2027?
The admission covers three-year engineering and non-engineering diploma courses in all government and private polytechnics of J&K and Ladakh, plus the Diploma in Medical Lab Technology. Branches in the 2026 Round 1 list included Computer, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Automobile, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Information Technology.
JKBOTE also runs a separate lateral entry admission to the 3rd semester. In 2026 its notice came on 6 July and the selection list on 12 August 2026.
