J&K NEET Counselling 2026 is the UT-level admission process for MBBS and BDS seats in Jammu and Kashmir, run by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) on NEET UG 2026 merit. It is open to J&K and Ladakh domiciles. Four rounds are done, and mop-up round joining closes on 13 October 2026.

J&K NEET Counselling 2026 Important Dates
Rounds 1, 2 and 3 and the special/mop-up round of 2026 are over, and mop-up joining ends at 7:00 PM on 13 October 2026. The national schedule leaves 17 to 21 October 2026 for a state stray round, but JKBOPEE has not announced one so far. The 2027 counselling is expected around July to August 2027.

Which seats are filled through J&K NEET counselling?
JKBOPEE fills all MBBS and BDS seats in Jammu and Kashmir except the 15% All India Quota of government colleges. J&K has given 15% of its government seats to the All India Quota since 2022-23. These are the 2026 seats at JKBOPEE’s disposal, from the operative seat matrix of 15 August 2026.

That is 1,362 government MBBS seats, 150 ASCOMS seats and 108 BDS seats. In government colleges, 4% of seats go to candidates from the UT of Ladakh. For the 15% All India Quota, register separately in MCC NEET counselling.
How to apply for J&K NEET Counselling 2026?
You register once on the JKBOPEE website after the NEET UG result, then pay the counselling fee and fill preferences for each round. There is no separate entrance test.
Apply Online for J&K NEET Counselling 2026
The J&K NEET Counselling 2026 application window (7 to 10 August 2026) has closed.
- Check that your roll number is in JKBOPEE’s roll number-wise list of J&K and Ladakh NEET UG candidates (30 July 2026). If it is missing but you are a domicile, submit your documents to the Board as notified.
- Register on jkbopee.gov.in in the registration window. In 2026 it ran from 2:00 PM on 7 August to midnight on 10 August. Use a computer, not a mobile phone.
- Upload your NEET UG 2026 scorecard, Class 12 marks card, domicile certificate, category certificate (if any) and date of birth certificate. Ladakh candidates also upload the compulsory service bond.
- Check your name and category in the Provisional Merit List. Clear any deficiency or objection in person at the BOPEE office in Jammu or Srinagar by the deadline (14 August 2026, 1:00 PM).
- When choice filling opens, pay the Rs 1,500 counselling fee online and fill and submit your preferences of course and college.
- If you get a seat, download the provisional allotment letter from the portal and report to the college with original documents by the last date.

College tuition fees are fixed by the government or the college, not by JKBOPEE. Ask the college about its fee before you join. A candidate who misses the online fee payment, even through a payment failure, is not considered for any seat.
How to log in to the JKBOPEE candidate portal?
You log in to the JKBOPEE portal to check your merit list status, fill preferences and download the provisional allotment letter after each round.
- Open the official login page of JKBOPEE.
- Enter your username and password.
- Type the captcha code and select Send OTP.
- Enter the OTP you receive to sign in, then check your status, the open round and your allotment.
- After an allotment, download the provisional allotment letter and take it to your college.
If you have no password yet, use Generate Password (For Students) on the login page. If you cannot sign in, use the Cannot access your account? link there, or write to [email protected].
Who can apply for J&K NEET Counselling 2026?
You must be a domicile of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir or Ladakh and have qualified NEET UG 2026 with the score JKBOPEE set for your category. The 2026 Information Brochure also asks for the following.
- Class 12 (10+2) passed with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognised board.
- At least 50% aggregate in Class 12 for Open Merit, EWS and P&B candidates, and 40% for SC, ST-1, ST-2, RBA, OBC and ALC/IB.
- Born on or before 31 December 2009, and 17 years old by 31 December of the year of admission.
- For Ladakh candidates, the ST certificate is treated as the domicile certificate.
- You must register and upload documents in the registration window. Qualifying NEET alone does not make you eligible.

How are seats reserved in J&K government medical colleges?
Reservation applies in government colleges as per S.O. 176 of 15 March 2024 read with S.O. 305 of 21 May 2024. These are the 2026 shares.

Half the seats in each category, including Open Merit, are for female candidates under Section 9 of the J&K Reservation Act, 2004. A category certificate must be valid on the last date of registration (10 August 2026); otherwise you are considered under Open Merit.
How do the J&K NEET counselling rounds work?
Each round has online choice filling, a provisional selection list, a short window for representations and then reporting at the college.
- Preferences lapse after each round. You must fill fresh preferences in every round, or you keep your current seat.
- Candidates who joined a seat can take part in the next round for an upgrade, but not for the same institution.
- New NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates could still join later rounds by paying the Rs 1,500 fee.
- In Rounds 2 and 3, a vacated seat first goes to the same category. Category seats still vacant later are converted to Open Merit.
- A seat once allotted cannot be changed. If you do not join by the last date, the seat is cancelled.
- You can cancel an admission at the college by the last joining date of that round, with no fee charged.
How are ASCOMS seats filled?
All 150 MBBS seats at ASCOMS, Sidhra, Jammu, including management, Hindu Minority and NRI seats, are filled by JKBOPEE. In 2026 the Hindu Minority and NRI seats were filled online from Round 1.

Candidates for Hindu Minority or NRI seats must register in the main JKBOPEE registration and upload the minority certificate or NRI documents. P&B candidates must meet the Open Merit eligibility.
