Is there an entrance exam for Maharashtra DSE 2027?
No. DSE (Direct Second Year Engineering) admission has no written test, so there is no admit card, answer key or exam centre. The State CET Cell ranks registered candidates on the marks of their qualifying course and fills seats through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP).

The State CET Cell has not announced the 2027-28 schedule, so 2027 dates below are expected months based on 2026. In 2026, registration ran from 7 to 22 July 2026 and CAP Round I allotment came out on 4 August 2026.

How to Apply for Maharashtra DSE 2027
You apply online only, on the DSE portal that the State CET Cell opens for each admission year. For 2026-27 it was dse2026.mahacet.org.in; the 2027-28 portal is expected with the new schedule in July 2027. One registration covers every college and branch in the CAP.
Apply Online for Maharashtra DSE 2027
Applications for Maharashtra DSE 2027 are expected in July 2027.
- Open the DSE portal for the admission year and register as a new candidate.
- Fill the application form with personal details, qualifying course (Diploma, B.Sc or D.Voc), marks and category claims.
- Choose e-scrutiny (documents checked online) or physical scrutiny (documents checked at a facilitation centre).
- Upload scanned documents and pay the application fee online.
- Confirm the form and track your verification status in your login.
The application fee is set in the official information brochure for each year; check the 2027-28 brochure before you pay.
Who can apply for Maharashtra DSE 2027?
You can apply if you hold one of the qualifying courses accepted for lateral entry to the second year of engineering:
- Diploma in Engineering/Technology. College admission pages quote at least 45% marks (40% for backward class, EWS and PwD candidates of Maharashtra).
- B.Sc with Mathematics; such candidates must clear the first-year Engineering Graphics and Engineering Mechanics subjects.
- D.Voc in an allied sector.

How is the Maharashtra DSE merit list prepared?
The CET Cell prepares the merit list from your qualifying-exam marks. Each candidate gets a State General Merit Number, and separate lists are made for Diploma, B.Sc, D.Voc and Defence candidates.
A provisional merit list comes first, then a few days for grievances, then the final merit list with the seat matrix. In 2026 the provisional list came on 25 July and the final list on 30 July 2026.
How do CAP rounds work in Maharashtra DSE admission?
CAP is the CET Cell’s online seat allotment. In each round you fill an option form with colleges and branches in order of preference, and seats are allotted on merit, choices, category and seats available.

In 2026 the schedule had four CAP rounds, from Round I allotment on 4 August to Round IV on 4 September 2026. Seats still vacant after CAP were filled at institute level up to the 14 September 2026 cut-off date for admissions.
What is the expected Maharashtra DSE 2027 cut off?
The latest official closing merit numbers are the best guide for 2027. DSE cut-off lists give the closing State General Merit Number, with the merit score (percentage) in brackets, for each college, branch, category and seat type.
