Maharashtra ITI Admission 2027 has no entrance exam. The Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) fills seats in government and private ITIs for the August 2027 session through an online Centralised Admission Process (CAP), on Class 10 merit (Class 12 for some trades). Registration on admission.dvet.gov.in is expected to open in May 2027.

Is there an entrance exam for Maharashtra ITI admission 2027?
No. DVET holds no written test for ITI admission. It ranks every confirmed applicant on the marks of the qualifying exam and allots seats online through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP). There is no admit card, answer key or exam centre.
One online application covers every government and private ITI in the state and every craftsman trade, both engineering and non-engineering. DVET’s 2026 brochure counts 420 government ITIs with about 1 lakh seats and 586 private ITIs with about 60,000 seats.

DVET has not announced the 2027 schedule, so the 2027 dates below are expected months based on 2026. In 2026, registration opened on 21 May 2026 and the first allotment list came out on 2 July 2026.

How to Apply for Maharashtra ITI Admission 2027
You apply online only, on admission.dvet.gov.in. After paying the fee you must visit any ITI once with your original documents to get the application confirmed. Every government and private ITI works as an application confirmation centre.
Apply Online for Maharashtra ITI 2027
Applications for Maharashtra ITI 2027 are expected in May 2027.
- Open the admission portal and choose New Candidate Registration.
- Enter your name, gender and date of birth exactly as on your Aadhaar card, verify your mobile number with an OTP, set a password and solve the captcha. Your registration number becomes your user ID.
- Log in with your registration number and password, and fill in your Class 10 (and Class 12, if any) marks, category, home district and other claims. Verify your Aadhaar in the form.
- Pay the application fee online through the payment gateway.
- Visit the nearest ITI with your original documents, one set of photocopies and a printout of the form. The ITI checks them and gives you an Application Confirmation Slip. Confirmation is free.
- When the option form opens, log in and choose ITIs and trades in order of preference for each CAP round.

Fill only one application. If you submit more than one, DVET cancels all of them and removes you from the admission process. Only confirmed applications are considered for the merit list and CAP rounds.
Who can apply for Maharashtra ITI admission 2027?
You can apply if you are an Indian citizen, are at least 14 years old on 31 July of the admission year, and meet the qualification of the trade you choose. There is no upper age limit.
- Most trades need a Class 10 (SSC) pass. A few non-engineering trades, such as Dress Making and Sewing Technology, accept Class 10 pass or fail candidates.
- Some trades need a Class 12 (HSC) pass; these have a separate merit list based on Class 12 marks.
- Several engineering trades require Science and Mathematics in Class 10. Candidates from the National Open School without these subjects are not eligible for engineering trades.
- If your board is not the Maharashtra State Board or a central board, bring an equivalence certificate from the Maharashtra State Board (MSBSHSE). Graded marksheets need a grade-to-marks equivalence certificate.

How is the Maharashtra ITI 2027 merit list prepared?
DVET ranks you on your total Class 10 (SSC) marks, converted to marks out of 500, plus any bonus marks you are eligible for. Bonus marks are capped at 50.

For trades that need Class 12, DVET uses your total Class 12 (HSC) marks and adds no bonus marks. If two candidates tie, DVET prefers higher Class 10 marks, then higher marks in the technical or vocational subject, then Mathematics, then Science, and finally the older candidate.

How do CAP rounds work in Maharashtra ITI admission?
CAP is DVET’s online seat allotment. Before each round you fill an option form in your login with up to 100 ITI and trade choices, and DVET allots seats on your merit, your choices, your category and the seats left.

Each district keeps 90% of its seats for candidates who passed Class 10 from a school in that district (home district seats) and opens 10% to candidates from other districts. Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban count as one district.
Candidates from other states and NRIs are considered only in Round 4, in the open category, after Maharashtra candidates. Seats still vacant after Round 4 go to counselling rounds, where candidates are called in merit order. Private ITIs also fill 20% of their seats, and any seats left after counselling, at institute level.
What fees do you pay at a Maharashtra ITI?
You pay the training fee at the ITI when you confirm admission. Government ITIs charge a small fee in cash, paid at one time; private ITIs set their own fee, which is listed institute-wise on the admission portal.

Fee concessions at government ITIs apply only to eligible Maharashtra residents. If a private ITI asks for more than the approved fee, complain to the DVET regional office.
What documents do you need for Maharashtra ITI admission 2027?
- Aadhaar card.
- Proof of Indian nationality.
- Class 10 (SSC) marksheet, and Class 12 (HSC) marksheet for Class 12 level trades.
- School or college leaving certificate from the last school attended.
- Domicile certificate of the candidate or a parent, if you apply as a Maharashtra domiciled candidate.
- Caste certificate, and a non-creamy layer certificate valid up to 31 March of the next year, for reserved categories other than SC and ST.
- EWS certificate, PwD medical board certificate, minority proof or bonus-marks proof, only if you claim them.
- Two recent passport-size colour photos and one set of self-attested photocopies.
The ITI keeps your original leaving certificate and SSC marksheet after admission and returns other originals after checking them. If a document is missing at admission, the ITI can give you 15 days to submit it; otherwise the admission is cancelled.
