The NERIST NEE 2026 examination, conducted by the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), Nirjuli, has been held in offline pen-and-paper (OMR) mode on 25 and 26 April 2026. NERIST NEE 2026

What is NERIST NEE 2026?

NERIST NEE stands for the NERIST Entrance Examination. It is the university-level entrance exam organised by the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), Nirjuli (Itanagar), Arunachal Pradesh, an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The NERIST NEE 2026 is conducted at three levels for admission to different programmes – NEE-I for Certificate Module, NEE-II for B.Tech / B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry / B.Sc. PCM Science / BBA, and NEE-III for B.Tech Lateral Entry for diploma holders. The exam is held in offline OMR mode across centres in the North Eastern States. NERIST is one of the premier technical institutes of the North East, and a NEE qualifying score is mandatory for direct admission to its courses. Also known as the NERIST Entrance Exam or simply NEE, this examination is the primary admission pathway to NERIST programmes.

NERIST NEE 2026 Application Form

NERIST released the NEE 2026 application form on 9 January 2026 at nee.ucanapply.com. Candidates registered using a valid email ID and mobile number, logged in to fill personal details, educational qualifications, exam city preferences (within the North Eastern States), and uploaded a scanned passport-size photograph and signature as per the prescribed specifications. A correction window was open until 5 April 2026. The last date to submit the NEE 2026 form was 31 March 2026.

NERIST NEE 2026 application fee:

  • General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 1,500
  • SC / ST / PD: Rs. 1,000

Payment was accepted online via debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI. The application fee is non-refundable.

NERIST NEE 2026 Eligibility Criteria

NERIST prescribed eligibility criteria for each level of NEE 2026 separately. Candidates must verify each condition based on the course they apply for before submitting the application.

  • NEE-I (Certificate Module): Class 10 (Matric) passed with Science and Mathematics, or appearing. Age limit: 19 years (UR), 22 years (OBC/Female), 24 years (SC/ST/PD) as on 31 July 2026.
  • NEE-II (B.Tech / B.Sc. Forestry / B.Sc. PCM / BBA): Class 12 (10+2) passed with relevant subjects from a recognised board, or appearing. Age limit: 23 years (UR), 26 years (OBC/Female), 28 years (SC/ST/PD) as on 31 July 2026.
  • NEE-III (B.Tech Lateral Entry): 3-year Diploma in Engineering / Technology from a recognised polytechnic in the relevant discipline with minimum 60% marks.
  • Nationality: Indian citizen.

NERIST NEE 2026 Exam Pattern

NERIST NEE 2026 was conducted in offline pen-and-paper (OMR) mode. The total marks across each question paper are 150 with multiple choice questions. A negative marking penalty of 25% (¼th) of marks is deducted for each wrong answer. Non-programmable calculators and log tables are allowed for NEE-II, NEE-II (Vocational), and NEE-III.

NERIST NEE 2026 Syllabus

The NERIST NEE 2026 syllabus is prescribed level-wise by NERIST and is available in the official information brochure at nerist.ac.in. The syllabus broadly covers the following subject areas based on the respective level.

  • NEE-I: Class 10 level Mathematics (arithmetic, algebra, geometry), Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology basics), English, and General Awareness.
  • NEE-II (PCM): Class 11–12 Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English based on NCERT curriculum.
  • NEE-II (PCB): Class 11–12 Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English.
  • NEE-III: Diploma-level Engineering subjects, Mathematics, English.

NERIST NEE 2026 Admit Card

NERIST released the NEE 2026 admit cards on 14 April 2026 at nerist.ac.in / nee.ucanapply.com. Candidates logged in with their registered email ID / application number and date of birth to download the admit card. NERIST NEE 2026 Answer Key

NERIST releases the NEE 2026 answer key on the admission portal after the conclusion of the exam. Candidates can compare their OMR responses with the official answer key to estimate their probable score. NERIST allows candidates to challenge any provisional answer through the online challenge mechanism for a limited period. NERIST NEE 2026 Result

NERIST declares the NEE 2026 result separately for NEE-I, NEE-II, and NEE-III at nerist.ac.in in May 2026 (expected). Candidates log in with their registered credentials to view and download the scorecard, which displays subject-wise marks, total score, qualifying status, and rank in the respective category. NERIST NEE 2026 Counselling & Admission

NERIST conducts centralised counselling for NEE 2026 qualified candidates in June–July 2026. The counselling process includes the following steps.

  • Online counselling registration by qualified candidates on the NERIST portal.
  • Filling of course and category preferences based on NEE rank.
  • Payment of counselling fee online.
  • Seat allotment based on NEE rank, category, and choice of course.
  • Reporting to NERIST for document verification.
